The Cardinals drilled the New York Giants 26-7 last week to end a three-game losing streak. The Eagles upset the NFC South-leading New Orleans Saints 24-21, halting a four-game slide.
Arizona are solid six-point home favorites over Philadelphia. The opening spread was Arizona -5.5. The Eagles are 1-3 this season as an away underdog both straight up and against the spread.

Hurts vs Murray
Jalen Hurts followed Kyler Murray as the starting quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners. Last week, he found himself joining Murray as an NFL starting QB when Eagles coach Doug Pederson benched Carson Wentz.
Like Arizona’s Murray, Hurts is a mobile QB. So is Daniel Jones of the Giants but that didn’t help him last week when the Cardinals sacked Jones eight times. Accounting for five of those sacks, Arizona linebacker Haason Reddick set a franchise record.
Haason Reddick is the first NFL player with at least 5.0 sacks and three forced fumbles in a game since 2002 (Vonnie Holliday, Green Bay).

Aided by the mobility of Hurts, Philly didn’t allow a single sack last week. The Eagles surrendered 53 sacks through their first 12 games.
The Philadelphia defense will face the same challenge containing Murray. He’s rushed for 712 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Philly has allowed QBs to rush for 364 yards against them this season. Jones garnered 156 yards in two games. Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson went off for 108 yards against the Eagles defense.
Eagles Are Grounded
Philadelphia ran for 246 yards and finished with two 100-yard rushers against a Saints defense that hadn’t allowed a 100-yard rushing performance over the previous 56 games.
Hurts scampered for 108 yards. Miles Sanders went for 115 yards, including an 82-yard TD.
Most rushing yards in a game by a QB this season:
♦️ Lamar Jackson (Week 6) – 108
♦️ Jalen Hurts (Week 14) – 106
♦️ Kyler Murray (Week 9) – 106 pic.twitter.com/XW3zzqwtJ4— PFF (@PFF) December 17, 2020
This bodes well facing an Arizona defense that frequently gives up chunk running plays. The Cardinals have allowed 44 rushes of 10 or more yards. Of that total, 17 have come over the last four games.
Arizona is the NFL’s 18th-ranked run defense (119.5 yards per game) The Cards allow an opponent rushing per-carry average of 4.5 yards. That’s 20th in the league.
Injury Report
Right tackle Jake Driscoll (knee) is out. That means the Eagles will start their 12th different offensive line combination in 13 games. Center Jason Kelce is the only OL to start every game for Philly this season.
Defensive tackle Malik Jackson (concussion) and cornerback Darius Slay (concussion) are listed as questionable. Both remain in concussion protocol and must be cleared prior to Sunday in order to play.

Guard Justin Pugh (calf) is questionable for the Cardinals. On defense, cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick (hamstring) is questionable. Defensive end Jordan Philips (hamstring) and strong safety Jalen Thompson (ankle) are out.
Trend Spotting
Slay’s absence would a vital loss to Philly. Arizona is 5-1 when wideout DeAndre Hopkins garners 100 yards in receptions.
Cardinals tight end Dan Arnold has caught four TD passes in the past four games. The Cards have 14 takeaways in their seven wins and four in their six losses. Arizona is 3-0 vs the NFC East and has outscored those teams 94-32.

Philly has lost four in a row at Arizona. The last win in the desert by the Eagles was in 2001.
Still, six points is too much for the Cardinals to give.
Best Bet: Philadelphia Eagles +6 (-108), 1 unit.
