There’s no nice way around it. The 2018 NFL season has been rough on my bankroll.

The Broncos followed the trend of teams from Mountain or Pacific time zones struggling in the early block of games on Sunday, the Bills shocked the football world again, and Odell Beckham Jr did indeed take the game over, throwing for a TD himself.

I’m not going to try to make my bankroll back in one week, though. We’ll continue betting intelligently.

Here’s what that looks like in Week 6.

NFL Week 6 Best ATS Picks

Pick #1: Steelers Continue to Dominate Bengals

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Pittsburgh Steelers +1 (-110) +100 O 51.5 (-110)
Cincinnati Bengals -1 (-110) -120 U 51.5 (-110)

*Odds taken 10/12

Week 5 served as the final reminder the Steelers will need to run the football. When they rush for at least 34 yards in a game, they are 2-0-1 this season. When they don’t even manage that, they are 0-2.

The Bengals allow 4.5 yards per carry, which is 24th in the league. So Pittsburgh should have no issue getting James Conner going on Sunday.

The Steelers have also won each of their last six games against the Bengals, and 14 of their last 17. Mike Tomlin just knows how to beat Cincinnati.

Pick: Steelers (+1)

Pick #2: Colts Over the Jets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Indianapolis Colts +2 (-110) +105 O 45.5 (-110)
New York Jets -2 (-110) -125 U 45.5 (-110)

Do not read too much into what you saw from the New York Jets last week. The Denver Broncos just did not show up.

The Jets are an average team at best. They have a decent defense that has created a lot of turnovers (11), but also an offense that struggles to move the ball (26th in total offense) and has a habit of turning the ball over themselves – 10 turnovers this season.

Andrew Luck doesn’t have much around him in Indianapolis, especially with TY Hilton already being ruled out, but this is the kind of game an elite quarterback goes out and wins on his own.

Pick: Colts (+2)

Pick #3: Falcons Over the Buccaneers

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3 (+105) +145 O 57.5 (-115)
Atlanta Falcons -3 (-125) -165 U 57.5 (-105)

The Atlanta Falcons are not as bad as they showed last week against the Steelers, getting stomped 41-17. They are an injury-depleted team, who is trying to play without many of their stars – Devonta Freeman, Keanu Neal, and Deion Jones to name a few – while also desperately trying to regain their 2016 stride on offense.

It’s not going to happen this season for them, unfortunately. But that doesn’t mean they won’t win a few games with the talent and offensive scheme they currently have.

This game has Julio Jones written all over it. He torched the Bucs for 253 yards and two TDs in Week 12 last year, and the Bucs enter Week 6 with the worst pass defense in the league.

Tampa Bay is going to score some points, too. But I’m confident Matt Ryan will score more.

Pick: Falcons (-3)
