Trent Williams wants the Washington Redskins to trade him. Yannick Ngakoue is fed up with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end OJ Howard wants out.

All of them figure to eventually have their wishes granted. However, the oddsmakers at online sportsbooks are of the opinion that it won’t be happening on Friday during Day 2 of the NFL Draft.

The “No” side is a heavy favorite for all three players.

Howard Isn’t Fine

Howard is seeking an escape route from the Buccaneers. Surprisingly, it has nothing to do with the arrival of former New England Patriot and Tom Brady bestie Rob Gronkowski in Tampa.

Howard was asking for a trade before it was announced earlier this week that Gronk was coming out of retirement to play football in the state where most folks go to retire.

Interestingly, the team that’s shown the most interest in acquiring Howard’s service is the Patriots. They’ve been struggling to fill their tight end spot since Gronkowski’s departure.

Howard was the Buccaneers’ first-round pick out of Alabama in 2017 but his NFL performance has so far been underwhelming. He’s caught 94 passes for just 1,456 yards and 12 touchdowns in three seasons of work.

Of course, that’s been with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jameis Winston delivering the passes. Bucs GM Rob Licht envisions the double threat Tampa Bay can unleash at tight end by using both Gronk and Howard.

Licht insists Howard isn’t going anywhere. Tampa Bay’s reported asking price to move Howard is so steep, teams are backing off.

Williams Must Go, But Where?

Removing head coach Jay Gruden and GM Bruce Allen over the past year, the Redskins are seeking to turn the page and move the franchise in a new direction. For that reason alone, they must find a way to bring an end to the ongoing Williams saga as soon as possible.

The hulking tackle held out for the first half of last season. Williams was rightly angered after team doctors misdiagnosed a cancerous growth for a span that covered almost six years.

He reported to the team just moments before the NFL trade deadline expired. Washington opted to place Williams on the non-football injury list. He didn’t play a single down all season long.

The team gave Williams permission to seek a move last month. Thus far, nothing concrete has materialized on the trade front. His name has been linked to both the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings.

The Browns solved their tackle needs by signing free agent Jack Conklin and drafting Jedrick Wills. The New York Jets (Mekhi Becton) also found their missing tackle in the opening round of the draft.

The Redskins are running out of options to move Williams. ESPN reported that a deal that would’ve sent Williams to the Bucs for Howard fell through.

Tampa Bay drafted Iowa tackle Tristan Wirfs in Thursday’s opening round.

Pick: No (-260)

Ngakoue, Jags At Odds

The fracture between Ngakoue and the Jaguars has gone beyond impasse to irreparable. Earlier this week, the defensive end got into a Twitter war with the son of team owner Shad Khan. Ngakoue called Tony Khan spoiled and tweeted a clown face at him.

Ngakoue has sought a way out of Jacksonville since the Jags put the franchise tag on him. Jags GM Dave Caldwell labeled a speculated trade to the Raiders as false.

He described Ngakoue’s options as limited. Caldwell insists that Ngakoue is wanted in Jacksonville and he will welcome him to stay with open arms.

Pick: No (-180)
