Kansas City Chiefs Betting Trends

Kansas City is a team that built its reputation around a high-octane offense. However, it’s defense that’s mostly fueled the Chiefs’ unbeaten run. They’ve allowed 17 points or fewer during each game of their six-game win streak.

In Sunday’s 48-9 drubbing of the Las Vegas Raiders, KC recovered a fumble on the game’s first play and took it to the house for a touchdown. Overall, the Chiefs forced five turnovers – four fumbles and an interception.

The Kansas City pass rush tormented Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. They pressured him on 34.7% of his dropbacks.

For just the second time in seven games, the KC offense put more than 22 points on the board. The last time was also against the Raiders in a 41-14 victory.

The NFL’s best third-down team, Kansas City made nine of 13 third-down conversions. The Chiefs scored four TDs on their first five possessions. QB Patrick Mahomes completed passes to eight different receivers. Four of those eight caught at least one pass then went for 23+ yards.

Los Angeles Chargers Betting Trends

It seems an unfair question to pose considering recent results. Still, it must be asked. Is the Kansas City defense really all that? During this six-game hot streak, the #3 Dallas Cowboys are the only top-10 NFL offense the Chiefs have faced.

They got the New York Giants (28), the Raiders (17) twice, Denver (24) and Green Bay (15) without Aaron Rodgers.

The Chargers are a legit offense, ranked #11 in the NFL. LA scored 30 on KC in a 30-24 Week 3 win at Arrowhead Stadium. They’ve scored at least 21 points in six of of the last seven games against Kansas City.

Riding a two-game winning streak, the Chargers have compiled 88 points the past two weeks. LA’s Justin Herbert became the first QB in NFL history to throw for 30 TDs in each of his first two seasons.

Chiefs vs Chargers Likely Line Movement

Five of the six games that compose KC’s win streak were played at Arrowhead. The Chargers have won two in a row from the Chiefs but both were played at KC. Since moving to LA, the Chargers are 0-3 straight up at home against the Chiefs.

KC’s .727 (13-8) winning percentage on TNF is fourth-best all-time. LA is also solid on TNF, going 7-4 (.636).

Three years ago during Week 15, the Chargers stunned the Chiefs 29-28 on TNF. Don’t be surprised if this line shortens toward LA this week.
