The NFL takes over Saturday night for the first time this season when Carolina and Green Bay meet up on NFL Network. The slumping Panthers roll into Green Bay after getting torched by Drew Lock at home last Sunday. Meanwhile the Packers have already clinched the the NFC North, but they have their eyes on a bigger prize.
With the Saints losing last week, the Packers moved into a tie for the number one seed in the NFC Playoffs.
Green Bay holds the head-to-head tiebreaker if they win out, clinching home field advantage throughout the playoffs and a first round bye. The Packers are favored by 8 points in this matchup and there are plenty of player props to consider.

Mike Davis Should Be Busy
This game looks like one where the Panthers will play from behind. Even if they play with a lead, it seems unlikely that they will ever sit on the ball. Green Bay has the number one ranked offense (DVOA) in the NFL according to Football Outsiders. They are also playing for home field advantage in the playoffs so it’s a safe bet that they force the Panthers to chase points in this game.
In a situation like this, the pass catchers from the team chasing points are good targets. They are likely to get four quarters of work which gives bettors a nice margin for error. The pass catcher that stands out the most in this matchup has to be Mike Davis.

So far this season, no team in the NFL has given up more receiving yards to running backs than the Packers. Just last week they gave up 59 receiving yards to the Detroit Lions’ backs. Two weeks before that they gave up 50 receiving yards to the Bears’ backs.
What makes this even more attractive is the fact that neither the Lions or Bears throw to the running back position with any consistency. That’s not the case with the Panthers – as only five teams in the NFL this season have targeted their running backs more in the passing game.
What’s better, Mike Davis has seen 68 of those targets while the next closest healthy back on the roster has been seen only seven. This is certainly the type of environment for Davis to get all the work he can handle in the passing game.
The Pick: Mike Davis Over 25.5 Receiving Yards

Who Scores?
The first player that comes to mind is obviously Davante Adams. He has scored a touchdown in each of his last eight games this season – which is absurd. But at -190 he is certainly priced like a guy who has scored in his last eight games. There may be a better way to play this one.
That’s Davante Adams' 8th straight game with a receiving touchdown, which breaks a tie with Hall of Famer Don Hutson for the longest in Packers franchise history.

The Packers have given up 18 touchdowns to opposing running backs this season which is the third most in the league. Mike Davis is coming off of a two touchdown performance last week and he has scored in two of his last three games. He leads the team in carries inside the five, so he is a good bet to get the ball near the goal line.
Only one team has given up more receiving touchdowns to running backs this season than Green Bay so there is always a chance he gets in that way as well.
Pick: Mike Davis – Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+110)
