On paper, not too many Week 2 games appear to have shootout potential. One of the few that does will take place inside Ford Field in Detroit, as the Lions host the Seahawks. If it does, all kinds of players could be good bets in the Seahawks vs Lions props markets.

These two teams played to a 48-45 result last season, and entering the weekend boast the second-highest total of the games remaining on the Week 2 slate.

Both squads feature promising young running backs and elite receivers, with DK Metcalf and Amon-Ra St. Brown headlining the ladder group. St. Brown has been a target monster since entering the NFL, and is a great place to start our Seahawks vs Lions props card.

St. Brown has the highest over/under in both the receptions and receiving yards categories in this contest. There’s argument that the line of 6.5 receptions simply isn’t high enough, given his talent and the way Seattle plays defense.

Seahawks vs Lions Props #1: Amon-Ra St. Brown Over 6.5 Receptions

Unless he gets injured, St. Brown is going to lead Detroit in targets. He’s seen at least nine in 10 of his past 12 games dating back to last season, hauling in seven or more catches seven times. Operating from primary the slot position, he feasts over the middle of the field, exactly where Seattle is vulnerable.

Last week they coughed up 10 catches to Rams rookie Puka Nacua, seven of which were over the middle. That area of the field is especially vulnerable on play-action, which is Jared Goff’s bread and butter. Goff averaged 12.2 yards per attempt off play-action last week, the highest mark in the league.

Look for him to pepper St. Brown over the middle on play-action throws as the linebackers bite, making Detroit’s number-one receiver a great buy in the Week 2 player props.

Seahawks vs Lions Prop Picks: Amon-Ra St. Brown Over 6.5 Receptions (-130) 1 unit

Seahawks vs Lions Props #2: Jared Goff Under 3.5 Rushing Yards

Back to Goff, who wants to avoid leaving the pocket at all costs. He’ll rarely if ever call his own number, and is not the type to scramble unless he absolutely has to. That style of play has led to ridiculously low rushing numbers, and we should expect that to continue on Sunday.

Goff has rushed for 3 or fewer yards in nine of his past 16 starts, including last week versus the Chiefs. Speaking of last week, the Seahawks ranked 31st in pressure rate, which is a carry over from last season. They ranked bottom third in the NFL in that category in 2022, and likely won’t force Goff out of the pocket very often.

Seahawks vs Lions Prop Picks: Jared Goff Under 3.5 Rushing Yards (-120) 1 unit

Seahawks vs Lions Props #3: Metcalf Strikes First

Even though Seattle is a 5-point underdog, we should expect them to be very competitive in this matchup. That brings Seahawks players into the touchdown props conversation, and Metcalf’s price to score is too good to pass up.

Seahawks vs Lions Scoring Props

Player Odds to Score 1st TD Odds to Score Anytime TD
David Montgomery (DET) +600 -110
Amon-Ra St. Brown (DET) +650 +100
Jahmyr Gibbs (DET) +700 +110
Kenneth Walker III (SEA) +850 +115
Josh Reynolds (DET) +1100 +185
DK Metcalf (SEA) +1200 +160
Sam LaPorta (DET) +1300 +235
Tyler Lockett (SEA) +1400 +195
Marvin Jones Jr. (DET) +1500 +290
Kalif Raymond (DET) +2200 +500

DK led all Seattle pass catchers in both red zone catches and touchdowns last season, and should be able to exploit a small Detroit secondary. The Lions’ boundary corners are both under 6-feet, which is problematic given Metcalf’s 6-foot-4, 235-pound frame.

Seahawks vs Lions Prop Picks: DK Metcalf First TD (+1200) 0.5 units, Anytime TD (+160) 1 unit
