The Seattle Seahawks were not expected to contend for the NFC West division crown at the start of the season, but they find themselves at 5-and-3, one game ahead of the 49ers. The Arizona Cardinals have slumped to 3-and-5, two games behind Seattle for the division lead. The ‘Hawks already beat ‘Zona 19-9 three weeks ago, so a loss would severely hamper the Cards’ playoff hopes. Read on for some Seahawks vs Cardinals analysis.

Both clubs are longshots to hoist the Lombardi Trophy in the Super Bowl odds, with Seattle at +6000, and Arizona at +10000. Should Pete Carroll and co. win for the fifth time in six contests, they’ll continue to see those odds slashed even more.

Seahawks and Cardinals Betting Analysis

Pete Carroll has the Seahawks cooking, winning four of five games, including three victories in a row. Those have been by ten points (against Arizona), and by two TD’s versus both the Chargers and Giants. Geno Smith won NFC offensive player of the month in October, with rookies Kenneth Walker III and Tariq Woolen each earning offensive and defensive rookie honors. Walker is the favorite in the OROY odds, while Woolen is the second choice in DROY odds.

After a dreadful start to the campaign defensively, Seattle has given up 45 total points the last three weeks, as they’ve been particularly stingy against the run. The offense has also followed suit, ranking fourth in points per contest.

Arizona has lost three of their last four contests, but they’ve been against current NFC division leaders in Seattle, Philly and Minnesota. It’s also important to note, though they scored a season-low nine points against Seattle, that was when DeAndre Hopkins was still out due to suspension. Since he’s been back, they’ve scored 78 points in the two games.

The Cardinals are not highly thought of on Pro Football Focus. Overall, they’re the 30th-ranked team (27th on offense, 28th on defense). Their counterparts are 11th overall (8th on offense, 20th on defense)

Seahawks vs Cardinals Injury Report

The Seahawks have a relatively clean bill of health, with only third WR Marquise Goodwin and situational pass rusher Darrell Taylor ruled out for this one. Special teamers WR Penny Hart and safety Joey Blount are questionable. Of most importance, both DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett were full participants in practice, along with offensive linemen Austin Blythe and Gabe Jackson.

As for the Cards, they aren’t so lucky. Offensive linemen Max Garcia and Rodney Hudson are out, along with CB Christian Matthew. Five Cards are questionable, with star safety Budda Baker and RB James Conner limited in practice, along with three others.

61% of the bets have been placed for the Seahawks to cover the two-point spread, with also 61% of bets on the over in Seahawks vs Cardinals NFL betting trends, with 75% of the handle placed on Seattle to win on the moneyline.

Seahawks vs Cardinals Prediction

Taking the two points on the hotter team is extremely tempting, especially with Seattle boasting a 7-1-1 record in their last nine games in Arizona. They’re getting amazing contributions from their rookies, with Kenneth Walker III churning up 504 yards and five TD’s the last four weeks.

The Cards struggle to contain the ‘Hawks at home, and they’ve also lost eight of their last nine overall games at their unfriendly confines in Glendale.

The Pick:

  • Seahawks Moneyline (+105), +2 spread (-113); 2 units to win 1.93 units

2022 record: 11-10; +1.96 units
