Two teams that are currently on postseason spots in their respective conferences clash this Thursday Night as the Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center, at 10:30 PM ET.

The Kings have the best defense in the entire NHL, allowing 2.0 goals against every night; they have won eight games in a row, including seven after the Winter Olympic Games.

“We’re going well right now,” backup goalie Martin Jones told the NHL’s official website after he made 24 saves in Monday’s 3-2 win at Calgary. “We just need to make sure we keep getting better here.”

Los Angeles has 82 points and currently is in third place of the Pacific division, just behind Anaheim and San Jose.

Toronto has 78 points, but they are second in the Atlantic division, in the East, only behind Boston, who has a 13 points lead at this point. The Maple Leafs dropped a three game winning streak after losing to the Sharks 6-2 on Tuesday Night.

“From the beginning we weren’t ready to play,” said defenseman Jake Gardiner, who scored both Toronto goals. “We gave up two pretty quick ones and no one really played well.”

The NHL betting moneyline has the Maple Leafs listed +170 and the Kings -210 for this game. Toronto is 2-5-1 SU in its last 8 games when playing Los Angeles; plus, he total has gone OVER in 9 of Los Angeles’s last 13 games when playing at home against Toronto.
