The Avalanche are the top choice in the Stanley Cup odds at +500. The Sabres (+13000), and Columbus (+30000) are massive longshots. Buffalo are -165 favorites in this contest that features a total of 6.5 goals.

Puck drop is set for 7:30 pm ET at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH with TNT providing the coverage in the United States.

Buffalo Sabres Betting Analysis

The Buffalo Sabres have had no trouble putting pucks in the net, as they trail only the Bruins in goals per game (3.80). Their issue is keeping teams off the scoresheet, as they are fifth worst in goals against/contest (3.68). As such, seven of Buffalo’s last eight affairs have resulted in the over goal total hitting.

They’ve managed to get back on track following a disastrous eight-game losing skid. In the last seven outings, the Sabres are 4-2-1. However, they still find themselves as the second from the bottom in the Atlantic Division.

Dylan Cozens is coming off a second star of the week, racking up four goals and five assists for nine points. Tage Thompson has been fantastic all season, as he’s eighth in league scoring. 2018 first overall pick Rasmus Dahlin has 29 points already, which ranks him second amongst blueliners. From Buffalo’s perspective, there should be no shortage of lighting the lamp in this one.

Columbus Blue Jackets Betting Analysis

Unlike their foes, goal scoring hasn’t been as easy to come by for the Blue Jackets, as they rank seventh worst in goals/game (2.79). They’re also struggling mightily to defend, as they’re 31st in goals allowed per game (3.96). They have the last-place power play efficiency in hockey, operating at a measly 14.3% clip.

They’re 1-4-1 in their last six outings, including a 4-1 loss Tuesday to Pittsburgh. Interestingly, however, the under has hit in their last six games. Despite their struggles, the team has had recent success against Wednesday’s opponent.

Sabres vs Blue Jackets Pick

Despite the under hitting in Columbus’ last six affairs, both teams are struggling to defend, so there should be a lot of scoring in this one. Still, there is something to be said for the Jackets’ home dominance against Buffalo that their +140 price on the moneyline is intriguing.

Sabres vs Blue Jackets Same-Game Parlay Picks

Pick Odds
Columbus Blue Jackets Moneyline +140
Over 6.5 Goals -130
PARLAY ODDS  +300

There should be goals in droves, and this is a game that Columbus has a punchers chance in, given their opponent. They have great results on home ice against Buffalo, so a +140 home dog is very attractive.

Pick: Columbus Blue Jackets Moneyline (+140), Over 6.5 goals (-130)
