  •  Bayern Munich star enjoying astonishing run of form
  • English forwards Sterling and Kane also in the hunt
  • Mbappe of PSG is spear-heading French side’s campaign

Robert Lewandowski’s extra-ordinary season of goal-scoring exploits continued in stunning style when he struck four times for Bayern Munich against Red Star Belgrade in Champions League Group B on Matchday 5.

He is the competition’s leading striker with 10 goals and has a total of 27 for his club in all competitions this season – with four more for Poland.

UCL 2019-20 Leading Goalscorer Odds

Player UCL Goals Odds
Robert Lewandowski 10 -1600
Raheem Sterling 5 +1600
Erling  Haaland 8 +2000
Harry Kane 6 +2000
Lionel Messi 2 +2000
Kylian Mbappe 4 +2500
Mauro Icardi 4 +5000
Sadio Mane 2 +5000
Karim Benzema 4 +5000
Mohammed Salah 3 +6600

Odds taken Nov. 29.

Lewandowski is a wide favorite to finish as the UCL’s leading goalscorer at -1600 ahead of his nearest rival in the betting, Raheem Sterling of Manchester City. The Englishman has five goals to his name and is rated at +1600.

Lewandowski was +500 to win the honor after Matchday 3. His team, Bayern Munich meanwhile, now have average Champions League odds of +2500.

Haaland Has Eight for Red Bull Salzburg

Norwegian Erling Braut Haaland is second in the goalscoring charts with a tally of eight for Red Bull Salzburg but is priced a joint-third favorite at +2000, along with Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

Kane has scored six times in the UCL while Messi has hit the target only twice.

With Lewandowski’s Bayern side rated among the top five most likely winners of the competition, Lewandowski is likely to have the opportunity to carry on building his goals tally deep into the later stages – possibly all the way to the final.

Bayern have racked up five straight wins for a 100-percent record in Group B – scoring 21 goals in total thanks to Lewandowski’s contribution of 10. He was the second-highest scorer in the UCL last season with eight.

Mbappe has scored four times and PSG have a good chance of advancing deep into the tournament after impressing with four wins and one draw in qualifying Group A.

However, his price does not offer much opportunity. Instead, the best value bet currently looks to be Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain, who is priced at +2500.

Mbappe has scored four times and PSG have a good chance of advancing deep into the tournament after impressing with four wins and one draw in qualifying Group A.

Although they have not gone past the last 16 in the most recent three seasons, they are strongly fancied to make more of an impact and progress further this time around.

Lewandowski’s form is so prolific that he has failed to score only twice for Bayern in 19 appearances in all competitions.

Sterling on Target in UCL and EPL

Along with his five UCL goals, second favorite Sterling has seven goals in the English Premier League.

City remain among the leading contenders to win the trophy despite draws in their two most recent qualifying ties against Atalanta and Shakhtar Donetsk.

Although Haaland has eight UCL goals, his Salzburg team are in third place in qualifying Group E and could be headed for the Europa League with a tough final qualifying game at home against holders and table-toppers Liverpool in December.

Messi was last season’s top marksman in the competition as Barcelona reached the semifinals.

Tottenham’s Kane has seven EPL goals along with his six in the UCL.

He hit two in the most recent European fixture against Olympiakos and his hopes of leading the goal-scoring charts have been boosted by the arrival at Spurs of new manager Jose Mourinho – twice a winner as a coach of the competition.

Messi was last season’s top marksman in the competition as Barcelona reached the semifinals.

Pick: Kylian Mbappe +2500
