Over/Under and Spread

Caesars have listed over 2.5 goals at -135, with the flip side, under 2.5, on offer in plus money at +105.

Neither bet offers a big return but the chance to more than double your money if there are three goals or more in the game is not to be ignored.

Belgium vs Wales Preview

The two most recent matches between these two – both in Wales – ended 1-1 but the Belgians can ill afford any more dropped points as they attempt to chase down the Netherlands at the top of the group.

Roberto Martinez’s men are currently playing catch-up after suffering a shock 4-1 home defeat to their close neighbors on Matchday 1 – an evening best forgotten with their only goal being a 93rd-minute consolation from Michy Batshuayi.

Crucially though, with the Dutch due in Brussels on the final matchday of the group, Belgium’s fate remains in their own control.

All Square in Cardiff

It won’t be easy though and the 1-1 draw in Cardiff on June 11 was a reminder to Martinez that this Welsh team is well-organized and combative. On the night, despite taking a 1-0 lead through Youri Tielemans, Wales’ persistence was rewarded when Brennan Johnson equalized four minutes from time.

But, aside from the opening day defeat by the Netherlands and the draw in Cardiff, it’s been all wins for the Belgians. Last time out they won 1-0 away in Poland thanks to another goal from Michy Batshuayi.

The Welsh Heading to Qatar

These are heady times for Welsh soccer as they prepare for their first World Cup finals since 1958. During that same period, they also made it to the top tier of the Nations League and qualified for successive European Championships. Yet with all efforts having gone into making it to the Qatar 2022 World Cup, they have found this Nations League campaign tough going.

With just two wins in their last eight outings – both coming in crucial World Cup qualifiers – Robert Page’s men have a battle on their hands if they are to stay in the top tier of the Nations League. To give themselves a chance, they need at least a win and a draw from their final two games, starting in Brussels.

A Nations League Struggle for Page’s Men

One point from a possible 12 so far is a dismal return for the Welsh and let’s not forget, their point came in the reverse tie against Belgium and only arrived late thanks to Johnson’s 86th-minute equalizer.

On the plus side, they have a surprisingly good record against Belgium, with just one defeat in their last six meetings – that coming in March 2021 in a World Cup qualifier.

Belgium vs Wales Team Lineups and Injuries

Belgium Projected Lineup: Courtois, Boyata, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Castagne, Tielemans, Witsel, Carrasco, De Bruyne, Batshuayi, Hazard (E).

Injuries & absences: Lukaku.

Wales Projected Lineup: Hennessey, Rodon, Ampadu, Davies, Williams (N), Morrell, Smith, Norrington-Davies, James, Bale, Moore.

Injuries & absences: Allen, Ramsey.

Belgium vs Wales Pick

The Belgians start as massive favorites with good reason and badly need the win in order to take it to the final day against the Dutch, but at -310 for the win, there is little value.

While they are massive odds for the win, Wales’ good record against Belgium is worth noting and as they scrap to avoid relegation, this won’t be the easy home win the odds suggest.

However, it’s hard to look beyond the narrow home win and so, for me, the +700 on offer for the 2-1 represents good value.

Pick: Belgium to win 2-1 (+700)
