Antonio Conte’s in-form Inter side will host Roma on December 6,  at 2:45 pm EST at the San Siro, looking for their 13th victory of the 2019/20 campaign. These two teams have drawn their last three meetings against each other, dating back to January of 2018. There has been no shortage of goals though, with two of those fixtures ending in a 1-1 draw, while the other in December of 2018 ended 2-2. Overall, had you bet on both teams finding the back of the net, that would’ve cashed in each of the past seven meetings between the two teams.

Inter Milan though are a whole different animal than they were last year. With a new coach and number nine in Romelu Lukaku, who’s bagged ten goals in domestic play this term, Inter has been extremely tough to beat. They’ve lost just once this season in the Serie A against second-place Juventus.

By no surprise, they enter this clash against Roma as -116 moneyline favorites.

Crucial Match for Both Sides

Inter will be without midfield maestro Nicolo Barella for a month, but they should have enough across the board to be competitive in this fixture. Argentinian striker Lautaro Martinez has been on fire as of late, scoring six goals in his last five appearances across all competitions. The in-form youngster has eight goals to his name in Serie A play this term. Martinez and Lukaku will look to continue their torrid form in the final third against a Roma backline that’s conceded just 15 times in 14 matches.

With both of Inter’s strikers playing great football currently, it’s going to be a lot for Paolo Fonseca’s defense to handle. It will be very important for Croatian Marcelo Brozovic to control the tempo of Inter’s midfield in this match, especially with Barella out.

Roma will be on the hunt for their ninth victory of the campaign and have played quite well against Inter in past fixtures. This is the first time these two sides are meeting this season though. Roma’s leading scorer, Edin Dzeko, will be looking to add to his six goals, but it will be no easy task against a backline anchored by Stefan DiVrij, who have conceded a measly 13 tallies this year.

Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pelligrini will look to string together lots of passes in the middle of the pitch for Fonseca’s side to free up space for Dzeko in the final third, but it could be a tough task with Inter’s defensive-minded formation and solid backline.

Should Be Close, But Inter will Win

This profiles to be one exciting match, with both sides in fine form as of late. But Inter is firing on all cylinders this year and even though these two have tied in the last three fixtures, Antonio Conte’s side will prove to be too much for Roma, with either Lautaro Martinez or Romelu Lukaku finding the back of the net, if not both. Edin Dzeko will find a moment of brilliance, but it won’t be enough.

Pick: Inter 2-1
