That came during a dismal run that wiped out the optimism of earlier in the season.

Even so, the trip to City is Southampton’s fourth successive away game – and the toughest of all of them.

There was a 1-0 win for City when they visited Southampton’s St. Mary’s Stadium on December 19. Raheem Sterling scored the goal.

Last season’s 1-0 win at home for Southampton was their only win against City in the last 10 meetings.
