Manchester City Favored to Be Highest Scoring EPL Team in 2019-20 Season
- Sportsbooks list Manchester City as the odds-on -225 favorites to lead the EPL in goals in 2019-20
- City scored a league-high 95 goals while winning the 2018-19 title
- They also topped the EPL by netting 106 goals en route to the 2017-18 crown
There’s two things that they just keep doing at Manchester City. One is winning titles. The other is filling the back of the net.
Man City won their second successive English Premier League title in 2018-19. The side also potted an EPL-leading 95 goals. That works out to 2.5 goals per game.
While winning the 2017-18 EPL championship, City hammered home 106 goals, or 2.78 goals per game, to again lead the league.
Sportsbooks are down with a three-peat. They’re offering -225 odds that Manchester City will again be the most prolific-scoring side in the EPL.

Tottenham Hotspur, with 86 goals in 2016-17, were the last team other than Man City to lead the EPL in tallies.
Manchester City’s Depth of Scoring
It starts with Sergio Aguero, who hit home 21 goals in EPL action last season. But it’s the deep roster of scorers that figure to keep Manchester at the top of the table.
England international Raheem Sterling netted 17 goals. The future status of 10-goal scorer Leroy Sane at City is currently up in the air. The German international has two years remaining on his contract but has not committed to an extension amidst rumors of a move to Bayern Munich.

City manager Pep Guardiola insists that he wants Sane to remain in the fold. Regardless, there’s plenty of others to pot goals if he decides to go.
Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Marhez each netted seven times. David Silva and Ilkay Gundogan contributed six goals apiece.
Off to a Good Start
City concluded its 2018-19 season by thrashing Watford 6-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley. They’ve picked up right where they left off during preseason friendlies.
They outscored West Ham 4-3 in the semifinal of the Premier League Asia Trophy. Man City followed that up with a 6-1 drubbing of Hong Kong side Kitchee. Sane scored twice, with singles going to Silva, Sterling, and Spanish youngsters Nabil Touaizi and Iker Pozo.
Is Liverpool in With a Chance?
City pipped Liverpool for the EPL title but the Reds successfully captured the Champions League final over Spurs, who beat Man City in the semifinals.
Liverpool was top-heavy with goals, getting 22 apiece from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. Roberto Firmino contributed 12 but then there was a significant dropoff to Xherdan Shaqiri (six) and James Milner (five).
Just one other player scored more than two goals.
Score With City
Hard to see City stubbing their toe and not copping the EPL goals title again this season.

There’s simply too much depth, too much talent. And if they hit upon a drought, Manchester City will just throw money at the problem and sign a scorer.
