PSG vs Monaco is the match to look out for in Ligue 1 this weekend. Firstly, PSG are going to be an absolute wagon in Ligue 1 play this year. Last week, they played Lille in what should have been an enthralling contest. Remember Lille, the team that won Ligue 1 just back in 2020/21? In fairness, Monaco have had a slow start to their campaign. All in the all, the moneyline odds for this match heavily skew in favor of the Parisians at -550. The odds for Monaco to win sit at +1300, which sound more like futures odds if we are being honest. In truth, Monaco have toppled PSG in three of their last five Ligue 1 meetings; if anyone can catch them out, it is The Monégasques.

Nonetheless, if you watched last week’s match vs Lille, you will have noticed it only took eight seconds for Mbappe to score. The Frenchman is ferociously fast and has potential to do damage against his former club. For reference, in eleven matches versus Monaco in all competitions, Mbappe has a staggering ten goals and six assists.
Monaco Need More Time to be Competitive
Again, respect is due to Monaco for their performances against PSG in the last few years. The Monégasques have shown time and time again that they have an upset gene in their DNA. But, they are a team that feels sort of half-baked at the moment. Embolo is still feeling his way around up top, and former Liverpool man, Takumi Minamino, is having to find his footing in French football as well.

Yet, we all know these lost chances cannot be afforded against a team like PSG. The Parisians are also unbeaten in their last 23 home games at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1, which does not help the visitors’ cause.
