The 2020 Top Seed Open has hit the finals with Switzerland’s Jil Teichmann and American Jennifer Brady being the last two ladies standing. Taking a look at the betting odds for Sunday’s showdown, which player is the best bet to win this tournament? Let’s take a closer look.

Teichmann Dominant At This Event

If you’re not quite familiar with Teichmann, don’t be miffed. She’s not exactly a household name as the 23-year-old is ranked No. 63 in the world. That’s likely to change after this tournament, but it’s not as if she has a huge track record of success. She was 3-5 on the year heading into this event.

Teichmann has come to life after the hiatus as she’s won all four of her matches in straight sets so far. In fairness, she has had a fairly easy path as she’s faced a Protected Ranking player and a Wild Card in her last two matches. Her toughest challenge was Yulia Putintseva, the No. 33 player in the world and the fifth seed at this event.

Nonetheless, Teichmann has taken care of business as impressively as possible. She has yet to drop a set in this entire tournament and only twice has she lost as many as four games in a set. That shows just how much she’s been dominating here.

Brady Has Breezed Through

As impressive as Teichmann has been, the same complements could be put to American Jennifer Brady, who has also been very impressive – if not even more so. Brady has won all of her matchups in straight sets, beating Magda Linette, Coco Gauff and Heather Watson – all players in the top 53 of the rankings.

Brady has hardly broken a sweat at this event as she’s lost a total of 17 games across four matches. She’s blown away the competition as Gauff was only able to take six games off of her in total. The rest of her foes have been held to five or less. Brady is on fire but the question is: can she top Teichmann to seal the deal?

What’s The Best Bet?

Brady and Teichmann have squared off twice in their young careers with Teichmann winning on indoor hard courts in December of 2019 while Brady won in the quarters of the Cincinnati Masters last year. Both matchups were really tight as Teichmann won 7-5, 7-6 while Brady won 1-6, 6-1, 6-2.

Both players are performing at a high level and have been on cruise control throughout this event. I’m not entirely sure who wins the match – I slightly lean with Brady – but what makes sense to me from a betting perspective is the over. I don’t think this will be a quick match as history has shown us they’re quite evenly matched.
