Karen Khachanov vs Sebastian Korda Prediction

This fourth round match will be the first career meeting between these two players, but it has all the makings of an exciting battle. They are scheduled to take to the court at 6:00 am ET on Monday.

Khachanov has been in the second week of Wimbledon before, but it’s been a few years. The Russian started the tournament off by dropping his first set in his first round match, but has yet to drop a set since. Khachanov took on Frances Tiafoe in the third round, and eased his way into the round of 16, winning 6-3, 6-4, 6-4. His serve was huge once again, recording 13 aces.

The 20-year old American has had a great showing in London this past week, and he’ll look to continue it as the competition gets tougher. In his three matches so far, he’s upset two seeded players in Alex De Minaur, and Dan Evans. And just like his next opponent, his serve has been a factor in all his wins as well, as he recorded 13 aces in his 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Evans.

This might be one of, if not, the closest match of the round, and it could be either players’ match. The two play a similar type of game, as they both rely on their strength more often than not. The key will be to minimize their unforced errors, and continue to utilize their strong serve. Expect this to go the distance.

Best Bet: Over 4.5 sets (+225)

Denis Shapovalov vs Roberto Bautista-Agut Prediction

Once again, these two players have yet to face each other on tour before, and this will be their first career meeting.

Shapovalov, the slight favorite heading into this match, is coming off a dominant win against Andy Murray, where he defeated the Brit 6-4, 6-2, 6-2. Leading up to that third round match, Shapovalov did have a little extra rest as his second round opponent withdrew from the tournament. But once again, his serve was the star of the show, recording 13 aces, and was able to win 100 percent of his first serve points in that third set to close it out.

Eighth seed, Bautista-Agut has definitely had an exhausting first week in London. His first two matches were long battles, but he managed to find his tennis grove last round, and defeated his opponent, Dominik Koepfer in straight sets winning 7-5, 6-1, 7(7)-6(4).

If Shapovalov can minimize his double faults and unforced errors, this should be his match to win. The 22-year old has recorded 27 aces in just two matches, but also racked up 19 double faults. The grass court should play into the young Canadian’s game more than Bautista-Agut’s.

Best Bet: Shapovalov 3-1 (+375)

Felix Auger Aliassime vs Alexander Zverev Prediction

These two aren’t strangers to each other, as this will be the fourth time they’ve gone head-to-head. But they’ve never seen each other on grass. Their last meeting came in 2020 where Zverev won in straight sets, to improve his head-to-head record to 3-0.

Zverev will be Auger Aliassime’s toughest opponent of the tournament so far. The 20-year old has only dropped one set on route to the round of 16. His third round match was cut short when Nick Kyrgios withdrew from the match in the third set due to the injury. In 2021, Auger Aliassime has found success on grass, and he’ll look to continue that in the second week of Wimbledon. He’s currently 9-2 on grass this year.

Zverev hadn’t lost a set prior to his third round match against Taylor Fritz. Fritz wasn’t going down easy as it took four sets for the German to secure the win. Zverev’s serve has once again been a big part of his game. Over his three matches in London, he’s recorded 51 aces and only 15 double faults.

I think this match will be closer than what the odds are stating right now. Could the extra bit of rest benefit the young Canadian enough to take the match, or a set?

Best Bet: Zverev 3-1 (+290)
