After recording one of their worst losses of the season during the weekend, Borussia Dortmund travels to St. Petersburg to face Zenit in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round 16, this Tuesday at 12 PM ET at Stadion Petrovski.

Dortmund lost to Hamburg 3-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday; they were outplayed on every level and the team clearly lacked motivation.

“We have often shown the right reaction in the Champions League in the past after losing league games,” coach Juergen Klopp said.

Zenit advanced as the second spot in the Group G with just six points, the fewer points by a team in the round of 16.

“The team live for this competition and their careers are driven by it. We have played in the Champions League for many years now, and we’ve fought well this season. We have many important qualities which means we can play at this level,” Italian coach Luciano Spalletti said.

“We drew the home match against Porto when we should have won, and it was the same against Austria Vienna, where we played with 10 men for more than an hour. We deserved to collect more points, but overall we can be happy with our performance.”

Keep in mind none of Dortmund’s last 10 Champions League games has ended in a draw; they have recorded 6 wins and 4 defeats.

Zenit is listed +325 in moneyline; Dortmund is -120, and the draw is +250.
