Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul is now slated to go down this summer on June 6th, 2021. This unusual celebrity prizefight is set to broadcast on Showtime PPV.

This exhibition bout was initially mapped out for February. But the initial lack of interest and COVID-minded factors forced the promoters into a back to the drawing board position.

The odds on this one have shifted a bit since the initial bout announcement and with the rescheduled timeline.

Logan Paul on Showtime PPV

An intriguing facet of this fight is that the contest is now going to be available via Showtime pay per view. The previous bout announcement detailed that FanMio would be used as the broadcast platform. But that is obviously no longer the case.

June 5th was a date that was tossed around a fair bit for this fight, but cold water was thrown onto that by a figurehead with Showtime.

June 6th has also been mentioned as a possible date. Mayweather listed off several possible fight locations on his Instagram (Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, and Atlanta).

TMZ reported that Floyd Mayweather’s team was targeting June 6th in Miami. To coincide with Florida opening things up for full capacity live events.

Some other aspects of this contest have finally been specified too. Floyd Mayweather will reportedly not be allowed to weigh more than 160 pounds, while Logan Paul cannot weigh more than 190 pounds.

When Floyd Money Mayweather steps in there with Logan The Maverick Paul, it will not be the multi-division champion’s first spectacle where, a huge size disparity between competitors is part of the show.

The athletic merit of this upcoming Paul fight has a similar level of gravity to Mayweather’s throw down with the Big Show at Wrestlemania.

Mayweather has an official pro boxing record of 50-0. Conversely, Paul’s is 0-1-1 both amateur and professional experience. But since this bout is an exhibition, it will not be recorded on the official records of either man.

With Triller coming off of Jake Paul’s hugely successful bout last weekend, it will be interesting to see if a rival competitor in Showtime counterprograms with the other Paul brother.

Paul vs Mayweather Betting

We have a Hall of Fame, multi-division world champion boxer taking on a winless warrior whose only bouts were with fellow Youtuber KSI.

I think the line shift that took place from opening odds to where public perception is at now has to be directly tied to Jake Paul’s recent win.

Recency bias is a hell of a thing and especially in combat sports. I think Logan Paul is getting some shine by proxy from his brother’s Triller victory.

Ultimately, I don’t think there will be really any more huge line movement leading into this fight. I think the line shifted as much as it could in these updated odds. There are residuals from Jake Paul’s win, but there’s also a chasm-sized gap in boxing accomplishment in Logan vs Floyd.

A  bit of common sense should prevail, and a basic ability to make solid inferences will return to the forefront as the fight date looms closer.
