  • There are 11 games on the MLB schedule for Monday, April 26th
  • Season record: 30-39: -$1,361 (based on $100 wagered per unit)
  • Wagering advice for Monday’s games can be found below

Corbin Burnes will try to continue his amazing start to the season, highlighting a 11-game MLB schedule Monday.

Burnes (2-1, 0.37 ERA) and the Milwaukee Brewers host the Miami Marlins and rookie left-hander Trevor Rogers (2-1, 1.64) at 7:40 p.m. ET at American Family Field. Burnes has 40 strikeouts in four starts and has yet to walk a batter and is the reason why the Brewers are the day’s biggest favorite at -190.

The Cincinnati Reds stumble into Dodger Stadium on a seven-game losing streak as they face the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. Tyler Mahle (1-1, 1.74) will attempt to break the skid as he faces left-hander Julio Urias (3-0, 2.81).

After being shut out in both games of a doubleheader Sunday by the Arizona Diamondbacks while being held to one hit, the Atlanta Braves will try to bounce back when they host the Chicago Cubs at 7:10 p.m. at Truist Park. The Braves will go with Charlie Morton (1-1, 3.91) against Zach Davies (1-2, 8.80).

April 26 MLB Picks

Matchup Pick and Odds at DraftKings Units Risked
Reds vs Dodgers Dodgers +1.5 (+125) 1 unit
Royals vs Tigers Tigers (-110) 1 unit
Marlins vs Brewers Under 6.5 (-114) 1 unit

Odds as of April 26th

Pick 1: Dodgers -1.5 (+125)

The Dodgers are coming off an emotional series at home with the San Diego Padres in which they lost the last three games of the four-game set. However, Urias is coming off one of the best performances of his career.

Urias struck out 11 against the Seattle Mariners while pitching seven shutout innings and allowing only one hit and one walk.

Urias has pitched into the sixth inning in each of his four starts this season. Furthermore, Urias has not lost since Aug. 9, 2019.

Since then, he has pitched in 32 games (including the postseason) and made 18 starts without taking an L.

Mahle is having a fine season and has been particularly tough on left-handed hitters, who are 3 for 43 with 20 strikeouts against this season. While Mahle could neutralize Corey Seager and Max Muncy, the Dodgers have plenty of dangerous right-handed hitters, including Mookie Betts, Justin Turner, Will Smith, Chris Taylor and AJ Pollock.

The Reds are also on their longest losing streak since 2019. The frustration boiled out Sunday when manager David Bell was ejected in a 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Though not in Burnes’ territory, Urias has 26 strikeouts to just four walks in 25.2 innings. That is a strong sign that the 24-year-old is gaining command of his arsenal of quality pitches and the man to get the Dodgers back on track.

Pick 2: Tigers -110

The Detroit Tigers will try to avoid being swept in a four-game series by the Kansas City Royals when they meet at 1:10 p.m. at Comerica Park. The Tigers’ Spencer Turnbull (1-0, 1.80) will make his first start of the season, facing Brad Keller (1-2, 12.00).

The Tigers have lost eight of their last nine games. Turnbull is the only Detroit pitcher to notch a win during that skid.

Turnbull held the Pittsburgh Pirates to one run and two hits in five innings last Wednesday, needing just 62 pitches. That came after he missed the first 20 days of the season while recovering from COVID-19.

Two years ago, Turnbull led the American League in losses when he went 3-17 with a 4.61 ERA in 30 starts in his first full major league season. The redhead showed improvement in 2020 when he had a 4-4 record and 3.97 ERA in 11 starts.

The normally reliable Keller hasn’t gotten past the second inning in two of his four starts this season and has pitched into the sixth only once. He gave up five runs in 1.2 innings in a loss to the Tampa Bay Rays in his last outing.

The Royals beat the Tigers 4-0 on Sunday for their straight win as Danny Duffy pitched five scoreless innings and Hunter Dozier hit a home run. The Tigers have scored just three runs in the first three games of the series.

Turnbull has never beaten the Royals in six career starts but has a fine 3.27 ERA against them and is a good play at a good price.

Pick 3: Marlins-Brewers Under 6.5 (-114)

Burnes is working on a streak of 18 consecutive scoreless innings. In all, he has allowed only one run in 24.1 innings this season.

Burnes attributes his success to attacking the strike zone, regardless of he is ahead or behind in the count.

However, Burnes isn’t the only starting pitcher in this game having a fine season.

Rogers is striking out 13.0 batters per nine innings and had eight punchouts while pitching seven scoreless innings in his last start against the Baltimore Orioles. Overall, the 23-year-old has 70 strikeouts in 50 innings in his first 11 career starts.

The Brewers have won five of their last six games but are averaging just 4.0 runs a game during that time. The Marlins have dropped five of their last seven games while averaging 2.7 runs.

While the total line is low, this game still looks like it will go under.
