Hill took his first loss in five starts Tuesday when he was tagged for five runs in four innings by the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg. He surrendered nine hits while striking out three and walking one.

MLB adopting bigger bases beginning with the 2023 season only made Hill’s week worse.

Against the Orioles, Hill has a 3-1 lifetime record and 3.15 ERA in 17 games (seven starts). He is 2-0 despite a 6.16 ERA in 14 games (nine starts) at Camden Yards.

Hill is 4-3 with a 3.99 ERA in 12 starts on the road this season. He is 3-3 with a 3.22 ERA in 10 starts during the day. The Red Sox have an 11-10 record in Hill’s starts.

Bradish is 2-1 with a 3.08 ERA in his last eight starts.

However, Bradish lasted three innings in his previous start, a no-decision against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday at home. He was touched for three runs and six hits to go with three strikeouts and two walks.

Bradish will be making his fourth start against the Red Sox. He is 0-2 with a 7.43 ERA against them.

In 10 starts at home, Bradish has struggled to an 0-4 record and 6.46 ERA. He is 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA in three starts in day games. The Orioles are an impressive 12-6 when Bradish takes the hill.

Bradish’s struggles at Camden Yards in his rookie season can’t be ignored. However, he continues to improve as the season goes on and is the way to go in this game with the Orioles in desperation mode
