The Los Angeles Dodgers have the Arizona Diamondbacks’ number. Then again, so far this season, the Dodgers have every team’s number.

LA will bring the best record in baseball of 26-10 out to the Dodger Stadium diamond when they play host to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday (9:40 pm ET).  The Dodgers have won 10 of the last 12 games from Arizona when the two teams clash in Chavez Ravine.

It’s no wonder then that LA are opening as -260 favorites to defeat Arizona yet again in the Diamondbacks vs Dodgers odds.

Earlier this season, the Dodgers took three of four from Arizona on the road.

Dodgers Quiet at Deadline

Monday’s 4 pm ET MLB trade deadine came and went with the Dodgers staying quiet. Perhaps they were simply showing faith in the group that’s been the best team in MLB all season long.

LA’s only move was one of subtraction. The Dodgers shipped pitcher Ross Stripling to the Toronto Blue Jays for two players to be named later.

Stripling, 30, was rendered redundant by the emergence of Tony Gonsolin in the LA starting rotation. A right-hander, Stripling has surrendered an MLB-high 12 homers in 33 innings this season.

The Dodgers did kick the tires on Milwaukee Brewers closer Josh Hader. Ultimately, though, they determined that the price for Hader was too steep.

Arizona also made a deal with Toronto. The Diamondbacks shipped pitcher Robbie Ray to the Blue Jays in exchange for left-handed pitcher Trevor Bergen.

Powering Up

LA finished up a 21-7 month of August with back-to-back wins against the Texas Rangers. The Dodgers have won four of their last five games.

During the month, the club belted 57 home runs. That’s the most a team has ever slugged in a single month in National League history.

LA is 9-0-2 in series this year.

Urias Well Rested

The Dodgers will send Julio Urias to the bump for this one. He’ll be doing so on six day’s rest and perhaps the extra time will help solve some of the problems he’s encountered in recent starts.

He’s been touched for five runs and permitted 14 baserunners over 5.2 innings across his past two starts. Though he didn’t factor in either decision, the Dodgers lost both games. That means he’s been the starting pitcher in 20% of LA’s losses this season.

Diamondbacks Career Stats vs Urias

The left-hander has struggled with command issues all season long. In four of his five August starts, Urias walked a batter in the first inning. He walked four over his last two starts.

Urias is 2-0 with a 3.67 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 27 innings. He’s fanned 11 over the past 5.2 innings.

He did beat the Diamondbacks 11-2 on Aug. 1. Urias allowed five hits and two earned runs over six innings while striking out five and walking just one batter.

Young and Restless

The Diamonbacks counter with Alex Young in this battle of southpaws. Young has made three starts since he was promoted to the rotation to replace the injured Madison Bumgarner.

His first seven appearances of the season were out of the bullpen.

He surrendered six earned runs across nine inning in his last two starts. Overall this season, Young is 1-1 with a 4.70 ERA.

Young has found it difficult at times to keep the ball in the yard. The lefty has been tagged for seven home runs in just 23 innings.

He’s made two relief appearances against LA this year. Young allowed one earned run in two innings and struck out four.

Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (-260).
