In what very well could be a World Series preview, the Los Angeles Dodgers (53-39, 24-23 away) are on the road to open a three-game set with the Baltimore Orioles (57-35, 29-18 home).
The Orioles boast the third-best record in baseball, and completed a sweep of the Marlins Sunday, extending their win streak to eight games.
Los Angeles just had their 6-game fun-run snapped Sunday against the Mets but still lead the NL West.

The Dodgers send rookie Emmet Sheehan to the bump to open the series. Sheehan will be making his fifth start this season.
It was a forgettable performance last time out for the righty, who lasted a season-low 3.2 innings and was shelled for four hits and five earned runs, including a home run in a 9-7 loss to the Pirates.

Sheehan walked four and struck out four, but didn’t figure in the decision, snapping a modest 2-win streak.
He’ll be facing the Orioles for the first time in his career.

Fresh off a 7-start stint in the minor leagues, the Orioles have recalled rookie Grayson Rodriguez, who gets the call Monday night.
Prior to being sent down, he was lit on fire by the Texas Rangers in a 12-2 loss. Rodriguez lasted only 3.1 innings, giving up six hits, eight earned runs — including three homers — while walking thee and fanning six.
With the goal of getting the command in check, Baltimore was happy with his development in the minors, where he surrendered just seven earned runs and 15 walk in 37.1 innings of work, with 54 strikeouts.
Los Angeles and Baltimore Players to Watch
LA has totalled the 4th-most runs in baseball, averaging 5.5 runs per game. Baltimore is right behind them in a tie for eighth, putting up 4.97 per contest.
For the Dodgers, Mookie Betts leads LA with 27 home runs and 65 RBIs. Freddie Freeman has the fourth-most hits (115), with 17 dingers and 63 RBI. Another big bat in the Dodger lineup is JD Martinez, who has 23 home runs and 64 RBI.

Baltimore doesn’t have a single player in the top 25 in home runs or RBI, but they’re led in both by Anthony Santander who has 17 dingers and 54 RBI. He hit his 100th career bomb Sunday against the Marlins.
That doesn’t mean their lineup isn’t potent: Baltimore has at least eight players with at least 30 RBI, and have seven players with at least nine home runs. Ten players have hit at least 10 doubles on the year.

Dodgers vs Orioles Prediction
The Dodgers were beaten 2-1 in 10 by the Mets Sunday. However, that doesn’t bode well for the next opponent: LA boasts a 26-12 record after a loss, the best betting mark of any team in the bigs.
Baltimore is no slouch after picking up a W as they did Sunday, 5-4 over the Marlins. They are 34-22 the next game, which is the 6th-best success rate in baseball.
LA’s lone run Sunday was the first time they’d scored less than five in a game over their last seven, but I think Oriole pitching will stand up, even with the unknown of Rodriguez.
Baltimore has allowed just 20 runs over the course of their 8-game win streak. After Rodriguez, they can turn it over to a pen that is top-5 in ERA (3.63).
