Minnesota vs Detroit Probable Pitchers

Chris Archer (0-2, 4.19) is scheduled to start for the Twins against rookie Alex Faedo (1-2, 3.00). Both will be pitching on four days of rest.

Archer is still looking for his first win as he makes his 10th start of the season. He lost last Saturday to the Kansas City Royals at home when he gave up five runs (three earned) and seven hits in four innings while striking out one and walking none.

Archer is 2-3 with a 3.57 ERA in 12 career starts against the Tigers. He has made five starts at Comerica Park with a 2-2 record and 4.28 ERA.

In four road starts this season, Archer has no decisions and a 3.31 ERA. He has an 0-2 record and a 6.43 ERA in four starts in day games.

Many of the Tigers veteran have had success against Archer. Javier Baez is 9 for 17 (.529) with two doubles and a home run while Miguel Cabrera is a .409 hitter (9 of 22) with two homers and a double and Jonathan Schoop is 15 for 42 (.357) with six homers and three doubles.

Conversely, Jeimer Candelario is 0 for 5.

Last Saturday, Faedo was a hard-luck loser against the Cleveland Guardians at Comerica Park. He allowed two runs on five hits in six innings with two strikeouts and two walks.

This will be Faedo’s first career appearance versus the Twins. He is 0-2 with a 3.38 ERA in three starts at home in 2022 and 1-2 with a 3.38 ERA in four daylight starts.

Twins vs Tigers Betting Outlook

Tarik Skubal pitched seven innings of two-hit shutout ball to lead the Tigers to victory Wednesday while Jonathan Schoop drove in a pair of runs. Schoop has six RBIs in the first four games of the series.

Schoop knocked in the Tigers’ first run with a first-inning single and their last run with a double in the fifth.

The Twins have gone 20 straight innings without scoring a run.

The Twins could get outfielder Gilberto Celestino back for Thursday’s game. He has been on the COVID-19 injured list since last Friday.

The Twins lead the season series 6-4 despite losing three of the first four in Detroit. Minnesota is 60-36 against the Tigers since the start of the 2017 season.

Twins vs Tigers Prediction

Since being selected to the All-Star Game in 2017, Archer has just 10 wins. He has also yet to pitch more than 4.1 innings in any of his starts this season. Thus, the call is to fade the Twins, especially as favorite.

Pick: Tigers ML (+114)
