The Cleveland Guardians (3-1, 2-0 home) brought to an end one skid against the New York Yankees (1-1, 0-0 road). Now they’ll be looking to halt another one.

Cleveland’s 4-2 victory in Game 2 of their ALDS series knotted the best-of-five set at 1-1. It also concluded New York’s six-game postseason win streak over the Guardians.

However, as the series switches locales to Cleveland’s Progressive Field, the Yankees are 3-0 straight up in the last three playoff games they’ve contested there.

Oddsmakers are backing the Yankees as -120 road favorites to keep on rolling through Cleveland. The Guardians are 2-6 SU in their past eight home playoff games. Both wins came in this season’s AL Wild Card against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Guardians right-hander Triston McKenzie won more games this season (11) than he did over his first two MLB seasons combined (seven). He also was establishing career highs in innings pitched (191.1), strikeouts (190) and WHIP (0.95).

McKenzie’s second career MLB postseason appearance went much better than his first. He worked six innings of two-hit, shutout baseball in Game 2 of the ALWS against Tampa Bay.
