The NBA is dishing out a five-game slate on Thursday (March 25th), with playoff contenders and some of the game’s biggest stars all seeing action. No player is currently producing at a higher rate than Washington’s Bradley Beal, who leads the league in points per game at 31.8. However, despite his stellar season. there’s plenty of reasons to be bearish on his outlook in Thursday’s player props market.

Odds taken March 25th at Bet365.

Prop #1: Bradley Beal Under 31.5 Points

First and foremost, the matchup versus the New York Knicks is as difficult as they come. The Wizards are 3-point underdogs versus a New York squat that allows a league-low 105 points per game, and is holding enemy shooters to an NBA-best 44.3% from the field this season. Washington and New York squared off just two nights ago, and the Knicks completely neutralized Beal.

They held Beal to 6-of-15 from the floor for just 22 points, 10 of which came from the free throw line. The NBA’s leading scorer has been quiet, by his standards, since the All-Star break averaging just 26.7 points per outing, and clearing the 30-point mark in only two of eight contests.

Beal has taken just 15 shots in back-to-back games, and while we should expect that number to increase on Thursday, efficiency will be very tough to come by against such a stout Knicks defense.

Pick: Bradley Beal Under 31.5 points (-125)

Prop #2: Dennis Schroder Over 5.5 Assists

The extended absence of both LeBron James and Anthony Davis has increased the usage of a handful of their Laker teammates. One of the players who’s seen a significant increase is Dennis Schroder. The 27-year-old’s usage rate increases from 22.8 to 26.8 with both James and Davis off the floor, and he is in prime position for a big game on Thursday versus the visiting Philadelphia 76ers as a 5.5-point underdog.

In two games without both LeBron and AD, Schroder has averaged 18.5 points and 5 assists. His assist total is something we’re going to want to target against Philly, as his assist rate jumps from 7.2 to 9.6 without LA’s two stars, and he accounts for 30.1% of the Lakers’ total dimes.

The Sixers are a neutral matchup for point guards, but given Schroder’s increased usage we can expect big numbers to follow. Last time out, he dished out 7 assists in 35 minutes of action versus New Orleans, and we can safely pencil in another big minutes projection as long as he stays out of foul trouble. He’s cleared 5.5 assists in six of his past nine games, and should eclipse that mark again on Thursday.

Pick: Dennis Schroder Over 5.5 Assists (-140)
