The Los Angeles Lakers put their unbeaten road record on the line when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers at 8 p.m. ET Monday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

The Lakers are 9-0 away from home and their 13-4 overall record is tied with the Los Angeles Clippers for the best in the NBA. The Lakers have also won seven of their last eight games straight up, six of their last seven against the spread and are double-digit favorites in this one.

The Cavaliers are 8-8 after having their three-game winning streak end Sunday night with a 141-103 thumping by the Celtics in Boston.

Lakers are Road Warriors

The Lakers are coming off a 101-90 win over the Bulls in Chicago on Saturday night as 9.5-point favorites, the second game of their seven-game road trip.

Anthony Davis shined in in his hometown, as he scored a career-high 37 points, 26 coming in the first half when the Lakers built a 63-33 lead. He scored 13 of the Lakers’ first 16 points as Los Angeles quickly jumped in front 20-6.

Davis made 14 of 21 shots, including two 3-pointers, and had six rebounds.

LeBron James added 17 points and 11 rebounds with six assists and six turnovers. That came two nights after he scored a season-high 34 points in a win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

This will be James’ second appearance in Cleveland since leading the Cavaliers to a fourth consecutive appearances in The Finals in 2018.

The Lakers made just four of 19 shots from 3-point range against the Bulls for 21.1% and coach Frank Vogel also was unhappy with his team’s intensity in the second half. However, Los Angeles held the Bulls to 39% shooting, including 32% (eight of 25) from long range.

There is an outside chance forward Jared Dudley could see action Monday after missing the last seven games with a sore right calf.

Cavs Have a Clunker

The Cavaliers will try to bounce back a night after being blown out in Boston.

Cleveland missed 10 of its first 13 shots, causing coach J.B. Bickerstaff to pull his starters, and were never in the game. The Celtics led 38-21 at the end of the first quarter and went on to easily cover the six-point spread.

Collin Sexton had a team-high 13 points, less half his team-leading 26.8 average. Sexton had scored 20 points in his each of his previous 15 games but was limited to 16 minutes.

Jarrett Allen scored 12 points and is averaging 14.3 in three games since being acquired from the Brooklyn Nets in the four-team James Harden trade. Allen averaged 11.2 points in 12 games with the Nets this season.

Andre Drummond played just 18 minutes and finished with 11 points and five rebounds. It was just the second time in 15 games this season that he did not record a double-double.

Drummond’s 14.5 rebounds a game is tied with the Atlanta Hawks’ Clint Capela for the league lead.

Darius Garland struggled in his second game back after missing eight games with a sprained right shoulder. He made just one of nine field goal attempts and missed all six 3-point tries.

LA Blowout in Last Meeting

The Lakers have won three of the last four meetings with the Cavaliers, including a 128-99 blowout in their only game last season, covering as 14-point favorites in Los Angeles.

James led the Lakers with 31 points in 32 minutes and handed out eight assists. Kevin Love had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Cavaliers but will miss this game with a calf injury.

The Cavaliers are an improved team after going 19-46 last season. However, their loss in Boston on Sunday showed they are still a way away from being at the elite level.

Look for the road-tested Lakers to roll, even as double-digits favorites.
