Thursday, February 10th has been circled on calendars of NBA fans worldwide. It’s trade deadline day, the last chance for teams to swap pieces before the offseason. It’s also a busy day of on-court action, however, starting off with the Grizzlies in Detroit, followed by the Nets in the capital and the new-look Pelicans hosting the Miami Heat. New Orleans are five-point dogs with CJ McCollum expected to make his debut.

Led by the All-Star level play of Pascal Siakam, the Toronto Raptors are favored by 7.5 over the Rockets in Houston. Dallas hosts the Clippers, looking to make it four straight wins.

There’s a Finals rematch between the Suns and Bucks at 10pm ET, and the final game of the night tips off 10 minutes later with the dysfunctional Knicks facing the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco.

Odds as of Feb 10th at FanDuel Sportsbook

Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has the highest points line for Thursday night’s games, closely followed by Devin Booker and Luka Doncic. Of props available at the time of writing, the Greek Freak also leads the way with 11.5 rebounds.

Grayson Allen Makes His Shots

The Phoenix Suns’ defense ranks just 14th over the last 10 games. Milwaukee is fourth in offense over that span with Giannis Antetokounmpo at his dominant best. While Grayson Allen’s role has fluctuated throughout the season, the former Grizzly is an important floor spacer for the Bucks, and he’s often the beneficiary when the defense collapses on Antetokounmpo.

Allen is averaging 11.7 points per game for the season, and he’s gone over this 9.5 points line in four of the last five. His usage drops when sharing the court with the big three, but the Bucks are going to need Allen to knock down some shots against a Suns team which owns the best record in the Association.

Shooting 42.2% from three over the last 15, Allen can take advantage when the defense focuses on the interior force of Antetokounmpo or Khris Middleton’s shooting ability. Phoenix will be forced to help off Allen at times, creating some easy buckets.

As the -148 on over 1.5 threes suggests, Allen is very likely to make two or more shots from deep. Add in a cut or two to the basket and he should easily reach double figures.

  • Pick: Grayson Allen over 9.5 points (-106)

Morant Picks Apart Pistons

Ja Morant’s assists line is 6.5, which is clearly on the low side. He’s averaging 6.8 dimes per game for the season, and 7.2 across his last 10 games. The odds are short on the over here at -138, but it still looks like a value pick.

Detroit ranks sixth-worst in offense over the last 10. Memphis plays at pace. Morant is an artist at picking apart defenses in the halfcourt, but he’s still at his most devastating in fast break situations, which contributes to the Grizz ranking fourth in transition points per possession.

Morant has notched seven or more assists in nine of his last 15 games. He’s 95th percentile in usage rate, and is turning it over less frequently than his first two seasons in the league.

Don’t be put off by the short odds here. This Grizz offense has been ruthless against the league’s worst teams – Morant should put up big numbers across the board.

  • Pick: Ja Morant over 6.5 assists (-138)
