It’s a relatively busy Sunday in the Association, with a total of eight contests on the slate. Highlighting the action is a marquee matchup between the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers, while the slumping Brooklyn Nets will be looking to end their cold spell as they visit Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.

Elsewhere, the Atlanta Hawks will battle it out with the Dallas Mavericks. The Milwaukee Bucks are also taking the floor against the Los Angeles Clippers in the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Maxey Dishing Dimes

Though he’s so far been overlooked in the Most Improved Player odds, it’s well known by now that Tyrese Maxey is absolutely thriving this season for the 76ers in place of disgruntled star Ben Simmons. The second-year guard is proving to be one of Philly’s best players and, specifically, a tremendous facilitator. Maxey is averaging 4.8 dimes in 2021/22 and there is going to be tremendous value in him dishing out his fair share of assists against the Bulls on Sunday, when the Sixers are 1.5-point road favorites.

The former Kentucky standout has hit the over in assists in eight straight games. Let that sink in. Even though the Sixers are on a two-game losing streak, Maxey is certainly doing his part when it comes to playmaking. With the over/under set at 4.5, this is an absolute no-brainer given the current run he’s on. Also, the last time Maxey faced the Bulls, he collected eight dimes. Lock it in.

KAT Struggles From Downtown

Karl-Anthony Towns is enjoying a solid campaign for the Timberwolves, averaging just under 25 and 10 per game on a 40% clip from downtown, which is extremely impressive for a big. However, he hasn’t shot the ball that well across his last two games, going 0 for 4 and 1 for 3 from beyond the arc. On average, Towns takes about 5.4 triples per contest.

At 1.5 here, obviously, it won’t take a lot for him to hit the over. But, Minnesota did also play the Pistons on Thursday when he was cold. It’s no secret that if a player isn’t feeling as confident with his stroke, he’s not going to chuck up as many treys.

Don’t get me wrong, with the T-Wolves favored by 12 over the Pistons, KAT is going to likely have no problem putting up 20+ points against Detroit. I just think the majority of his damage is going to come inside the paint. There’s value in the under.
