  • Player props are available to bet for many of the league’s biggest stars
  • See below to find out where we think the betting value lies

A busy nine-game slate in the NBA on Friday (January 7th), gives us a bevy of player props to choose from. Some of the biggest names in the game headline the slate, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and James Harden.

However, our player props betting card won’t start with an NBA superstar, instead the brother of one.

Just a reminder to all of the hungry New York State sports bettors out there, it won’t be long before you too can get in on the action. Online Sports betting New York officially launches on Saturday, January 8th.

Prop #1: Seth Curry Over 2.5 Threes

Seth Curry and the 76ers are 7-point favorites over the Spurs on Friday. Philly will be without starting point guard Tyrese Maxey for a third straight game, and when you remove his 16.8 points and 13.5 field goal attempts per game, it opens up a lot of opportunity for the rest of the Sixers’ roster.

Curry has been one of the main benefactors of Maxey’s absence over the past two outings. He’s averaging 36 minutes per night and 13 field goal attempts, including 6.5 attempts from beyond the arc. The 31-year-old has buried at least three triples in back-to-back outings, and he’s a strong bet to do so again on Friday.

Also working in Curry’s favor is the matchup versus San Antonio. Only 10 teams yield a higher three-point field goal percentage to enemy shooters than the Spurs.

Prop #2: Russell Westbrook Under 8.5 Assists

Our next bet to target comes from a Lakers’ squad that is a 3-point favorite over the Hawks. Everyone was quick to praise Russell Westbrook after his zero turnover performance last time out, but lost in the shuffle is the fact that he recorded just 2 assists in 34 minutes of action.

Westbrook averages 8.1 assists per contest, but that number is inflated thanks to a four-game stretch late last month, where he averaged over 11 dimes per outing. He’s actually failed to eclipse 8 assists in nine of his past 14 outings, yet the juice is shaded towards the over on his assist prop.

Atlanta is a neutral matchup for opposing point guards, but with the Lakers playing a much smaller lineup these days, more players on the court are capable of distributing the ball.  For example, James, Malik Monk, and Avery Bradley all racked up more assists on Wednesday than Russ.
