Regular season evenings don’t get much better than Wednesday, March, 16th. We’ve got three 7:10pm ET tip offs to get stuck into, including the Cavaliers against Joel Embiid and the Sixers in Cleveland, Ohio. Denver is in the capital to face Washington at the same time, and there’s an all-offense clash between the Hawks and Hornets.
Half an hour later, the Dallas Mavericks are slight underdogs as they take on the Brooklyn in the Nets vs Mavericks odds, who are on the second night of a back-to-back. Coming off a win over New Orleans on Tuesday, the Phoenix Suns are in Houston to face the Rockets. The low-effort Lakers take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
An entertaining schedule doesn’t end there, though, with the Thunder and Spurs being followed by the Bulls against the Jazz. The defending champion Bucks are nine-point favorites for their duel with the Kings, and the red-hot Boston Celtics are in San Francisco to face the Golden State Warriors. A 10:40pm ET tip-off between the Raptors and Clippers brings an end to Wednesday’s slate.

Odds as of Mar 16 at FanDuel Sportsbook
He might not be in the NBA MVP odds mix this season, but LeBron James is still putting up outrageous numbers. As the four-time MVP chases down the scoring title, he’s got the highest points of Wednesday night at 32.5.
There’s a tie when it comes to rebounds between MVP favorites Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo. They are joined by Defensive Player of the Year candidate Rudy Gobert at 12.5.
Garland Attacks Sixers Defense
The Sixers are only middle of the pack in defense over the last five. They have been lit up by Bones Hyland and Seth Curry in that span. It’s only a few games ago that Darius Garland dropped 26 and 19 against Philly, and he’s scored 24 or more in four of his five outings since then.
While Tyrese Maxey is a solid defender and Matisse Thybulle is an option against Cleveland’s All-Star guard, James Harden is a weak point in the Sixers’ defense. Tobias Harris and Georges Niang are both very vulnerable if switched onto Garland. ROY odds favorite Evan Mobley has slotted in at the five seamlessly, replacing Jarrett Allen as Garland’s pick-and-roll partner.
Joel Embiid is a deterrent at the rim, but the drop coverage deployed with Embiid plays into Garland’s hands. He’s one of the best mid-range scorers in the game, ranking in the 96th percentile on mid-range efficiency. His floater is a drop-killer – he makes 52% of his short mid-range attempts.

Garland is averaging over 20 shots per game over his last seven. He’s scored 27.1 per contest over that period, too. This is a matchup Garland has already had success in. He’s good value to have another productive night.
- Pick: Darius Garland over 23.5 points (-118)
Williams Punishes Small Warriors
The Warriors unsurprisingly looked a much better team with Draymond Green back on the court. Green is on a minutes restriction as he works his way back, though, and even with the three-time champion, the Warriors are still undersized.
ROBERT WILLIAMS MY OH MY! 😱pic.twitter.com/ws1Oj9LM24
— Guy Boston Sports (@GuyBostonSports) March 10, 2022
Williams isn’t a seven-footer, but he’s an elite athlete with great bounce and is often the beneficiary of the attention Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown attract. He’s a great defender, who will not be played off the floor by Golden State’s smallball.
Averaging 9.9 boards and 10.4 points per game since the All-Star break, this 20.5 points and rebounds line seems touch and go for the Celtics big man. He’s passed this in five of seven games, however, and he’s going to be a constant lob threat against these Warriors.
While the Dubs should prioritize slowing down the star wings, there will be opportunities for Williams both with cuts to the basket and as a roll man. There should be some easy rebounds up for grabs, too.
This should be a close game between two of the best teams in the league, with GS four-point favorites in the Warriors vs Celtics odds. Williams has posted 21 or more points and rebounds in 11 of 15 games when he’s played 35 or more minutes. He should have a heavy workload here – take the over.
- Pick: Robert Williams over 20.5 points and rebounds (-115)
