They’ll also be down Ben Simmons, who is out with a knee injury.

It all gets underway Sunday (Feb 26) at 3pm ET from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA. You can watch the game live on NBA League Pass.

Brooklyn Betting Analysis

Getting obliterated coming out of the all-star break is never good. For Brooklyn, it’s even worse considering the Bulls were riding a 6-game losing skid when they hammered them 131-87. The Nets trailed by as many as 50 in the fourth quarter.

BK’s starting five of Spencer Dinwiddie, Cam Johnson, Miles Bridges, Dorian Finney-Smith and Nic Claxton combined to score 34 points, or two less than Zach LaVine had on his own.

Cam Thomas led the Nets in scoring with 22 points, while Seth Curry had 19 points and three assists.

As a team, Brooklyn shot just 37% from the field, including a dismal 12-for-44 from three-point range (27.3%).

In the eight games since dealing Irving (KD was traded a few games later but was injured), Brooklyn has scored just 109.5 points per game, which would rank 2nd-last in the NBA. In the two road games, they’ve been held to 96.5 points.

Defensively, they’ve surrendered 116.1 points during this stretch, with teams shooting 48.8% from the field.

Atlanta Betting Analysis

Joe Prunty may not be the head coach for long, as Quin Snyder looks to be closing in on the job, but he certainly had Atlanta looking alive in a 136-119 clubbing of the Cavaliers.

Cleveland may have been playing the second night of a back-to-back, but they also boast the NBA’s top-scoring defense (106.7ppg), and were lit on fire by Atlanta. The Hawks dropped 49 points on the Cavs in the second quarter and never looked back.

Trae Young had a game-high 34 points to go along with nine assists, while Dejounte Murray added 25 points, nine rebounds and eight dimes of his own.

Trade-deadline pickup Saddiq Bey drilled five triples en route to 19 points, while grabbing four boards. Atlanta shot 15-for-28 from beyond the arc (53.6%), and shot 58.8% from the field.

They won’t be at full strength for this one, though, as forward John Collins is out, still dealing with the effects of a concussion.

Nets vs Hawks Betting Prediction

Despite their struggles, the Nets have proven to be a strong bounce-back bet: they’ve gone 5-1 against the spread in their last six games following a loss.

They have struggled in the ATL, however, running a 1-4 ATS mark in their last five meetings. The Hawks have also been the bet in this head-to-head recently, going 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings.

The Hawks are the NBA’s 7th-highest scoring team, putting up 116.7 points per game, and they did look very impressive in their last win.

While Atlanta is 1-2 against BK in their last three, they have covered in each contest. With this Nets squad clearly in transition, look for the Hawks to take full advantage.

Pick:

  • Hawks -5.5 (-110); 1.5 units to win 1.31 units
  • NBA Betting Record: 29-28-1 ATS, 1-2 ML, 5-7 o/u, 0-2 parlays; -9.5 units
