  • Read below for the Nets vs Kings preview, with odds and predictions

Two teams that are righting the ship after sluggish starts to the year clash in Sacramento, as the Brooklyn Nets visit the Kings.

BK (6-8, 3-4 away), are coming off a loss to the Lakers, and will be playing their third game in four nights.

They’ve been playing much better after a wild beginning to the year, where their 1-5 start was probably secondary to the off-court drama surrounding them. The Nets have won four of their last six.

The Kings (6-6, 3-3 home) just knocked off the defending champs, and have reeled off three straight wins, squaring their record after an 0-4 start to the year.

It all gets underway Tuesday (Nov 15) at 10pm ET from the Golden 1 Center in Sacto, in a game that can be seen live on TNT.

Brooklyn Betting Outlook

For all the tumultuous stuff emanating from the Brooklyn franchise, just imagine what a mess they’d be in without Kevin Durant.

The all-world forward has been a force for the Nets, and while it hasn’t translated into great success (yet), at least new head coach Jacque Vaughn has a major piece to work with.

With the Nets down Kyrie Irving (suspension), Ben Simmons (knee), Seth Curry (rest) and Nic Claxton (eye), KD kept the Nets in it on the second night of a back-to-back, eventually falling 116-103 to the Lakers.

Durant finished with 31 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and two blocks, logging a game-high 38 minutes. He’s scored at least 26 points in each of the Nets’ 14 games this season.

He’s feasted on the Kings of late, as his teams have won each of the last seven meetings, with Durant putting up 30.7 points on 50.4% shooting.

Aside from Irving, Brooklyn should have the rest of the players who missed the Lakers game back Tuesday.

Sacramento Betting Outlook

De’Aaron Fox is definitely the engine that drives the Kings, but Domantas Sabonis needs to play as close to a 1A for the Kings to be successful, and the recent results reflect that.

Sabonis was a monster against Golden State, dropping 26 points, adding 22 rebounds and eight assists in a 122-115 win. No forward has delivered that much production for the Kings since Chris Webber in 1999, in the SacTo glory days.

Over the first five games when the Kings went 1-4, Sabonis averaged 14.4 points and 9.2 rebounds. Since then, he’s putting up 20.4 points and 12.9 rebounds.

Fox finished with 22 points and eight dimes, while rookie Keegan Murray potted 21 points on a team-best 5-for-9 from downtown.

As a team, Sacramento is cooking offensively to start the year, ranking fifth in scoring at 116.8 points per game, tied for second in field goal shooting at 48.4%, seventh in 3-point shooting at 37.1%, and sharing the ball with 27.3 assists per contest (7th).

Nets vs Kings Prediction

Part of the Nets’ climb back out of that start has been their play defensively. Prior to their loss to the Lakers, Brooklyn had held teams under 100 points in the previous five contests — something they hadn’t done all season to that point.

Who decides tempo will likely play a big part in this one. SacTo plays at the 10th-fastest pace in the league, while Brooklyn stands in 26th.

While the Nets are 22nd in scoring, they shouldn’t have a problem getting buckets Tuesday. Sacramento surrenders 116.7 points a game, which ranks 26th in the NBA.

The Kings are a tidy 4-0 against the spread in their last four outings, and the over is 6-0-1 in their last seven home games against teams with losing records.

Brooklyn is 4-2 since suspending Kyrie, and the off day plus the influx of live, usable bodies should bode well for BK, who have seen the under cash in seven of their last eight. On the road, the under is also 5-1 in their last six road games.
