The Warriors vs Lakers series is now down to a best-of-five, with LA holding home-court advantage. The two teams split Games 1 and 2 in Golden State, with the Warriors putting on an offensive masterclass en route to a lopsided 127-100 win on Thursday.

Now the series heads back to Los Angeles, where oddsmakers are all of a sudden bullish on the Lakers. Home-court advantage is worth roughly 9 points in their minds per the NBA odds, as LA has gone from sizeable road underdogs in Game 2, to favorite status in their own building for Saturday’s Game 3.

Los Angeles vs Golden State Betting Splits

After what they saw out of Golden State in Game 2, it’s not surprising that bettors are siding with the Warriors on Saturday. Golden State is currently drawing 57% of the spread bets, and 60% of the ATS handle. The Warriors were 1-1 against the spread as underdogs in the opening round, dropping Game 1 as 1-point ‘dogs, before winning Game 7, while also catching a point.

Total-wise, over 227 is garnering the majority of the action. 67% of the over/under wagers thus far are on that side of the total, as is 62% of the handle.

Warriors vs Lakers Series Odds

Team Odds
Golden State Warriors -120
Los Angeles Lakers +100

As for the series odds market, Golden State is back to being favorites to advance in the NBA playoff bracket. The Warriors Game 2 victory moved them from +145 underdogs to -120 favorites, while LA fell from -175 favorites to +100 underdogs.

GS vs LAL NBA Betting Notes

Golden State’s Game 2 win was keyed by two things. Continued success from three, and a new look lineup. JaMychal Green replaced Kevon Looney in the starting five, reducing the Warriors’ size, but increasing their versatility.

The removal of Looney forced Draymond Green to guard Anthony Davis, and he more than held his own. A game after Davis lit up the Warriors for 30 points and 23 boards, he finished Thursday with only 11 points and seven rebounds.

LeBron James was more efficient from the field on Thursday, finishing with 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting, but he and AD combined to shoot just one free throw. The Lakers got to the line only 17 times total, which is a far cry from the 29 free throws they shot in Game 1.

Golden State held LA to 42% from the field and kept them below 30% from three for the second consecutive outing.

Speaking of threes, the Warriors were raining triples once again. They splashed 21 threes for the second straight contest, helping them record back-to-back 40+ point quarters. They outscored the Lakers 84-47 in the second and third quarters combined, which put the game on ice.

Golden State is now shooting 44.2% from three for the series, with Klay Thompson leading the way with 14 triples already. With Klay pouring in threes from everywhere, Steph Curry took on a bigger playmaking role in Game 2 by dishing out 12 assists.

Warriors vs Lakers Predictions

The Warriors are going to be virtually impossible to beat if Curry has the ability to dominate not only as a scorer but as a distributor as well.

Things are likely going to get much more challenging in Game 3, as the Lakers have been excellent at home in the playoffs. LA is 4-0 so far, with the best home defensive rating of any team by a wide margin. They’ve yet to allow more than 111 points at the crypto.com arena, despite two of their four games going to OT.

It’s possible they slow down the Splash Bros on Saturday, but the more likely scenario is that we see a game that lives up to offensive expectations. Golden State is shooting the lights out right now, and we can expect them to see more open looks.

LA doesn’t have a defender that can man up Curry, so they’re forced to throw multiple bodies at him. If that’s the case he’ll find his teammates, just like he did in Game 2.

Warriors vs Lakers Same-Game Parlay Picks

Team Odds
Steph Curry Over 4.5 Assists -270
Over 217.5 Points -285
Klay Thompson Over 20.5 Points -210

We’re backing Curry for over 4.5 assists as leg one of our Warriors vs Lakers same-game parlay, and pairing it with the over on an alternate total of 217.5, and over 20.5 points for Thompson. If all three wagers hit, we’re looking at a +145 payday.

Golden State leads the playoffs in pace so far, with LA playing faster than expected ranking second of all remaining teams. Thompson meanwhile, has seven 21+ point efforts in nine postseason starts.

Pick: Same-Game Parlay (+145)
