As the No. 4 seed, Indiana are 4-point favorites against the Golden Flashes. Losing is not something Kent State has been accustomed to lately, as they’ve won 10 of their last 11 entering the tournament.

SGP Pick #1: Kent State +4.5
First off, the Golden Flashes come into this game oozing confidence with a Mid American Conference tournament title in hand. In their three tourney games, Kent State defeated their opponents by an average of 13.3 points.
This defense is very stingy. According to KenPom, they rank 38th in the nation in adjusted defensive efficiency and that could cause some major problems for the Hoosiers. Indiana is very good, but did lose six of nine games when shooting under 45% from the field.

The Golden Flashes are a team that could be a major problem for some of the chalk in the odds to win March Madness, and Indiana just hasn’t been playing great ball of late. In their last nine games, the Hoosiers are just 5-4 and won only two of those games by more than four points.
SGP Pick #2: Indiana Hoosiers Under 73.5 Points
During the month of January, Indiana scored at least 74 points in six of nine outings. Since then, they have hit or surpassed that number on offense just three of 11 times, and in one of those cases, they wouldn’t have got to that total without overtime.
Paying out at +1200 in the Final Four odds, the feeling here is that the Hoosiers will need everything just to make it to the second round.
Granted, Kent State has played only two squads with a better KenPom overall rating than Indiana this campaign, but in both those spots, they held their opponents under 74 points. One of those games, was against the top ranked Houston Cougars, who only managed to put up a season low 49 points against the Golden Flashes.

Senior guard Sincere Carry has been dynamite this month, averaging 23.8 points, which means he can account for over one-third of that total on his own if he keeps up his performance in March.
