Boston College Betting Outlook

Senior forward James Karnik had one of the best games of his career in the win over Virginia Tech.

Karnik set a career high with 26 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds. After not scoring more 17 points in any of the first 16 games this season and being held to one point in a loss to Louisville three days earlier, Karnik made 10 of 12 shots from the floor.

Senior guard Makai Ashton-Langford added 18 points and is averaging 13.2 points and 3.4 assists a game.

Karnik and Ashton-Langford, both graduate students, combined to score 64.7% of Boston College’s 68 points.

Junior forward T.J. Bickerstaff finished with seven points, 10 rebounds and four assists for Boston College, which held an impressive 38-23 advantage on the boards.

The score was tied 61-61 with 4:23 left but Boston College outscored Virginia Tech 7-2 the rest of the way. The Eagles fell behind 11-4 with 12:23 remaining in the first half but drew within 33-31 by halftime.

Ashton-Langford is one of just two players with a double-figure scoring average for Boston College. His brother, sophomore DeMarr Langford Jr., is scoring 10.4 points and pulling down 4.9 rebounds a game.

Boston College is 8-9 against the spread this season, including 2-3 in away games.

Wake Forest Betting Outlook

Senior guard Alondes Williams is leading Wake Forest’s charge after transferring from Oklahoma. He is averaging 20.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists a game.

Williams is the only player in the country averaging 20 points, five rebounds and five assists. He is trying to become the first player to lead the ACC in both scoring and assists since the latter became an official statistic in 1974.

In Saturday’s win over North Carolina, Williams had 23 points, six rebounds, three assists and a career-high three blocked shots. He has scored in double figures in every game this season and has 10 20-point efforts.

However, it was junior forward Jake LaRavia who was the big star for Wake Forest, finishing with a career-high 31 points, a season-best 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals. He made 9 of 13 field goal attempts and was 12 for 15 at the foul line.

A transfer from Indiana State, LaRavia is stuffing the stat sheet with averages of 15.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.7 steals. He has scored in double digits in 13 of the last 14 games.

Senior guard Daivien Williamson, one of just four holdovers from last season for the Demon Deacons, scored 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting. He lifted his season average to 12.7 and then proved to be fan friendly.

Senior guard Isaiah Mucius is a fourth Wake Forest player scoring in double figures with a 10.0 average.

In his just his second game of the season, sophomore guard Damari Monsanto contributed 13 points and five assists. Monsanto tore his Achilles tendon in June and the East Tennessee State transfer was expected to miss the season.

Wake Forest went on a 20-5 run to move in front 41-28 with 3:19 to go in the first half and was never seriously threatened.

Boston College vs Wake Forest Prediction

Wake Forest has won consecutive games against Boston College after losing three in a row to the Eagles. In the last meeting last Feb. 10, Wake Forest notched a 69-64 road win as Mucius had 10 points and eight rebounds.
