Oregon will attempt to get back on track as it visits Utah at 9:30pm ET Saturday in a Pac-12 game at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City.
#17 Oregon had its eight-game winning streak snapped Wednesday with a 79-72 road loss to Colorado as a three-point underdog. The defeat dropped the Ducks to 8-2 overall, 3-1 in the Pac-12 and 4-6 against the spread. They are road favorites in this one.

Old Star, New Star
Senior guard Chris Duarte and freshman forward Eugene Omoruyi continued their fine play in the loss at Colorado as they combined for 45 points. Duarte had 27 and Omoruyi added 18.
The reigning Pac-12 player of the year, Duarte is averaging 17.7 points a game. He is also active on defense with 2.2 steals a game.

Duarte is having an outstanding shooting season with a 65.2 effective field goal percentage, 67.9 true shooting percentage and making 88.5% on his free throws.
Omoruyi has provided an inside presence while establishing himself as one of the top freshmen in the nation. He has an 18.6 scoring average and accounted for 29.9% of Oregon’s possessions and 34.3% of its shots.
Another freshman forward, Eric Williams Jr., is providing a third scoring option with an 11.7 average. He also leads the Ducks in rebounding with 6.6 a game.

Oregon had been a strong rebounding team until getting beat 40-28 on the boards by Colorado. The Ducks entered the game with a plus-7.5 rebounding margin.
Oregon, though, did score 42 of its 72 points against the Buffaloes in the paint.
Young Utah Struggling
Utah had a hard time putting the ball in the basket in its last game, a 64-46 loss at USC last Saturday as a 4.5-point underdog.
The Trojans held the Utes’ top two scorers, senior guard Alfonso Plummer and junior forward Tim Allen, to a combined 12 points. Plummer went into the game with a 16.0 scoring average and Allen was right behind at 15.8.
Plummer and Allen are the only two players scoring in double figures.

Utah shot 28% percent overall and an abysmal 12.5% in the second half when it made just four of 32 attempts.
Freshman guard Ian Martinez provided the lone bright spot offensively as he came off the bench to score 10 points and was the only Utah player to reach double figures. His season average is just 3.1.
Martinez is one of 11 freshmen and sophomores on Utah’s roster. Thus, coach Larry Krystkowiak is looking for any positive developments he can find with his young roster.
He was pleased that his defense forced USC into 14 turnovers. On the other hand, the Trojans shot 53% from the field.

One interesting stat for Utah, though it is somewhat hard to determine what it is indicative of, is that junior forward Riley Battin has yet to commit a turnover this season in 148 minutes.
All Oregon
The series has been all Oregon in recent years. The Ducks have beaten Utah five straight times and won 14 of the last 15 games.
Last season, Oregon won on the road 69-64 as a 4.5-point favorite and 80-62 at home as a 12.5-point choice.
In the game at Utah, Duarte had 14 points and seven rebounds for Oregon while Allen had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Allen added 10 points and six assists in the second game.
The duo of Duarte and Omoruyi should allow Oregon to continue its dominance over a young Utah squad.
