Playing a college basketball season in a pandemic has caused plenty of cancellations and hastily arranged games.
One of the last-minute matchups includes Wofford visiting 19th-ranked Richmond at 2 p.m. ET Monday from the Robins Center in Richmond, Va.
The host Spiders, who have already had three game canceled because of COVID-19 concerns, are favored in the matinee.

Odds taken Dec. 7 from FanDuel
Both teams are 2-0, though there has been a major disparity in strength of schedule.
Richmond has beaten Morehead State and Kentucky, which was ranked No. 10 at the time. Meanwhile, Wofford has wins over Toccoa Falls and Carver, who both play in the National Christian College Athletic Association.
Living Up to Expectations
Richmond entered the season with great expectations after going 24-7 last season. The Spiders likely would have gained their first berth in the NCAA Tournament since 2011 if the Big Dance had not been wiped out by the coronavirus.
Coach Chris Mooney has one of the most experienced rosters in the country. Richmond has 10 upperclassmen, including four graduate students, and all five starters from 2019-20.
Senior forward Nathan Cayo has been the leading scorer in the early going after often being the Spiders’ fifth option last season. He has 41 points in two games, including 23 against Morehead State and 18 against Kentucky.

Senior guard Blake Francis (15.5) and senior forward Grant Golden (14.5) are averaging a combined 30 points a game.
Meanwhile, senior point guard Jacob Gilyard is off to a fine all-round start with averages of 9.5 points, 5.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and four steals per game. Gilyard led the nation in steals last season with a school-record 99.
Richmond is 1-1 against the spread, failing to cover as 20.5-point favorite vs Morehead State, but then knocking off host Kentucky as a 6.5-point underdog at Rupp Arena.
Overmatching the Opposition
Wofford will get what is by far its biggest test of the young season by facing a ranked team. The Terriers outscored their NCCAA foes by a combined 199-86.
Point guard Storm Murphy leads the team with 17.5 points a game. He is a four-year starter and one of two starters who return from last season’s 19-16 team that got hot late in the season and lost to East Tennessee State in the Southern Conference Tournament championship game.

Four other Wofford players are also scoring in double digits: senior Tray Hollowell (14.5), sophomore forward Messiah Jones (13.0), freshman forward Sam Godwin (12.5) and freshman forward Nick Pringle (10.5).
Jones is averaging a team-high 8.5 rebounds against foes that have been clearly outclassed by the Terriers.
Richmond Perfect
Richmond has won all three games played against Wofford in their history. The last meeting came on Nov. 12, 2012. The Spiders posted a 64-58 victory at home.
While both teams are unbeaten this time around, they have also gotten off to uneven starts.
Richmond has not played in eight days since knocking off Kentucky. Wofford has yet to even play a school that plays in the NCAA, let alone Division I.
While Wofford is a dangerous mid-major – it has beaten North Carolina twice in the last three seasons at Chapel Hill – Richmond’s talent and experience will prove to be too much for the young Terriers.
The Pick: Richmond -12.5 (-115)
