Here are all the college football betting trends you should be keeping in mind for Week 8.

Odd College Football Setting For Irish And UNLV

Based on what’s happened this season in Vegas, perhaps the Notre Dame Fighting Irish should be thinking about staying in Vegas. Once ranked in the top 10, the Irish are treading water at 3-3. However, Notre Dame is perfect when it comes to Las Vegas showings. And the Irish are looking to remain that way.

This season’s Shamrock Series game, Notre Dame’s annual rotating neutral site contest, was held at Allegiant Stadium. The Irish toppled the #16 Brigham Young Cougars 28-20.

This week, Notre Dame and UNLV are meeting for the first time ever at Notre Dame Stadium UNLV is 3-1 SU at home, but just 1-2 away. The Irish are 1-2 at home, but 1-0 at UNLV’s home. Perhaps Notre Dame should’ve lobbied for the game to be played at Allegiant Stadium?

Oddsmakers don’t think it’ll matter. In the CFB odds, it’s Notre Dame that’s set as massive 25.5-point road favorites over UNLV on Saturday, October 22 with a 2:30pm ET kickoff on NBC Peacock.

Boilermakers Ready To Bust Out Against Badgers

Oddsmakers won’t go as far as to favor the Boilermakers. Purdue is a 2.5-point underdog at Wisconsin, but there’s a growing sense that all the badgering they’ve endured over their lack of success on the road against the Badgers could come to an end this season.

Purdue has lost 15 in a row at Wisconsin and 18 in a row overall to the Badgers. The Boilermakers are 3-12 against the spread over that span. Purdue is 3-1 in conference play and second in the Big Ten West. Wisconsin is 1-3 in Big Ten games.

Rolling Tide Tsunami About To Wash Away Bulldogs

In any team knows what it’s like to deal with an angry bunch of Alabama Crimson Tide, it’s the Mississippi State Bulldogs. On Saturday, for the third time in four seasons, Mississippi State will be lining up to play the Tide fresh off an Alabama loss. And this time, they’ll be doing so while traveling to Alabama to boot.

Last season, Alabama fell 41-38 at Texas A&M. The Tide went to Mississippi State the following week and won 49-9 as 15-point road favorites. In 2019, Alabama lost 46-41 to LSU. The next week at Mississippi State, the Tide were 38-7 victors as the 19-point road chalk.

Alabama lost 52-49 at Tennessee last week. The Tide are set as 21-point home favorites over Mississippi State this week.

Overall, Alabama has won 14 in a row SU against the Bulldogs. The Crimson Tide have covered in 10 of those victories.

Syracuse, Clemson Streaks On The Line

Something has to give in Saturday’s huge battle of ACC unbeaten teams between the #14 Syracuse Orange (6-0) and the #5 Clemson Tigers (7-0).

Syracuse is 5-1 ATS this season, tied for the best cover rate in the conference with Wake Forest. In the school’s last five games facing top-5 teams, the Orange are 4-1 ATS. But they’ll have to win in Death Valley, where Clemson has claimed 37 successive victories.

Clemson also owns an impressive run of success when facing top-25 schools. Since the FBS-FCS split in 1978, the Tigers are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS as a double-digit point favorite against a school ranked in the top 25. Clemson has also won an NCAA-leading 10 straight games against Power 5 schools.
