Arguably the biggest matchup of the season headlines the Week 13 college football calendar. The Game pits Big Ten rivals #3 Michigan against #2 Ohio State, with both teams entering play without a blemish on their records.

The stakes for this contest are sky-high as the winner is all but guaranteed a conference championship title and a spot in the College Football Playoff. Saturday’s matchup marks the 11th time these two schools have both been ranked in the top-5, and in five of the previous meetings, the winner either made the playoff or advanced all the way to the BCS National Championship game.

With a game of this magnitude, the betting options are endless. We advise focusing your attention on the player props market, as there is no shortage of value to be found. Our Michigan vs Ohio State player props card starts with a fade of J.J. McCarthy’s arm, as you don’t want to mess with this Buckeyes’ defense through the air.

McCarthy has an over/under passing yards prop of 199.5, which is 82 yards less than Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud. Note, both teams are dealing with injuries to their respective backfields and as of Friday afternoon online sportsbooks have not listed any running back rushing props.

Mich vs OSU Prop #1: J.J. McCarthy Under 199.5 Passing Yards

Before we go any further, just a reminder to always price shop. McCarthy’s passing yards prop can be found for as low as 191.5 yards or as high as 199.5 yards. That eight yards can easily be the difference between winning and losing a bet, so make sure you get the best number.

Michigan boasts the best defense that the Buckeyes will face all season, but the same can be said when the Wolverines have the ball. Ohio State ranks 9th in total defense, and surrenders just 175.5 passing yards per contest. That ranks top-10 in the nation, and the 6.4 yards they yield per attempt is a top-22 mark.

The Wolverines rush the ball on over 61% of their plays, and there’s no point deviating from what’s been working so well. Michigan averages 5.5 yards per carry and 243.8 yards on the ground per contest. Star RB Blake Corum is banged up, but has already stated he’ll be ready to go for Saturday.

His presence will reduce the number of times McCarthy goes to the air. The sophomore pivot has thrown the ball 27 or fewer times in nine of 11 games, and has failed to eclipse the 200-yard mark six times. Over his past five outings, he’s thrown for more than 167 yards once.

Pick: J.J. McCarthy Under 199.5 Passing Yards (-115 at DraftKings), 1 unit

Mich vs OSU Prop #2: Julian Fleming Under 40.5 Receiving Yards

Our next target reinforces the notion of price shopping. Julian Fleming’s over/under receiving yards prop is listed at 36.5 at some online sportsbooks, but at 40.5 at others.

Fleming hasn’t cleared 40 receiving yards in four straight games, and that isn’t likely to change versus the country’s number four pass defense. Michigan is yielding just 5.3 yards per pass and 161.7 passing yards per outing.

Julian Fleming Stats – Last 4 Games

REC YDS LNG TD
2 30 25 0
2 24 16 0
1 7 7 0
2 27 23 0

OSU’s top-two targets Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka have hauled in a combined 43 catches over the past four games, while Fleming has managed only seven.

Pick: Julian Fleming Under 40.5 Receiving Yards (-115 at DraftKings), 1 unit

Michigan vs Ohio State Scoring Props

Player Odds to Score 1st TD Odds to Score Anytime TD
Dallas Hayden (OSU) +400 -360

Luke Schoonmaker (MICH) +1800 +240
Roman Wilson (MICH) +1800 +260
CJ Stroud (OSU) +2600 +410
Michigan Defense +3500 +420

As far as the anytime TD market goes, there are truly some outrageous prices no matter where you look. Ohio State may be a 7.5 point favorite, but laying -360 for either one of their top-two running backs to score seems like horrific value.

MICH vs OSU Prop #3: Marvin Harrison Jr. First TD

As a result, we’re going to target the first TD market. Harrison Jr. seems like an ideal fit, as he’s scored 11 times already this season. C.J. Stroud’s Heisman Trophy odds bid is likely on the line, and while scoring should be tougher to come by in this matchup than in most of his games, nobody is expecting him to get shutout.

When he does take to the air, Harrison Jr. will be his first read. The sophomore wideout has excelled at home this season, hauling in eight TDs in seven contests.

Pick: Marvin Harrison Jr. First TD (+500 at FanDuel), 0.5 units
