Two playoff-bound teams on opposite trajectories meet when the Arizona Cardinals visit the Dallas Cowboys at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The Cowboys (11-4) are on a four-game winning streak and have clinched the NFC East title. Dallas still has a chance to overtake the Green Bay Packers (12-3) for the top seed in the NFC and the resultant first-round playoff bye.

A three-game losing streak has dropped the Cardinals (10-5) one game behind the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West with two games left. Regardless, Arizona is headed to the postseason for the first time since 2015.

In a game that will be televised by Fox, the Cowboys are 5.5-point favorites and the over/under is 51.5 points.

Redemption Time for Elliott

Running back Ezekiel Elliott had one of the worst games of his career when the Cowboys were thumped 38-10 by the Cardinals last season at home.

Elliott lost two fumbles in a game for the only time in his six-year career. Compounding matters is the turnovers came only a week after quarterback Dak Prescott sustained a season-ending ankle injury.

The Cardinals limited Elliott to 49 yards on 12 carries. Though he had eight receptions, they went for a total of just 31 yards.

Elliott hasn’t rushed for more than 52 yards in a game this season since Week 6 and has been admittedly hindered by a knee injury.

However, Elliott showed flashes of his old self in last week’s 56-14 rout of the Washington Football Team and appears to be getting healthier. He rushed for 37 yards on nine carries and caught a touchdown pass.

Elliott should be motivated for atonement against the Cardinals and their run defense, which ranks 15th among the 32 NFL teams in yards allowed. He is poised for a breakout game just like Prescott last week.

  • The Pick: Ezekiel Elliott over 53.5 rushing yards (-114)

Targeting Mr. Cooper

Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper complained last week that he wasn’t getting enough targets after being thrown to just 4.6 times a game in the previous five games. As the old saying goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

The Cowboys threw to Cooper eleven times against Washington, and he had seven receptions for 85 yards and his seventh touchdown of the season. The yardage figure was his third highest of 2021.

Cooper has scored just two TDs in the last five games after having five in the first seven weeks, two coming in the opening-night loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Look for Prescott to continue throwing to Cooper this week.

It appears Cooper is re-emerging as the lead dog in a deep receiving corps with the playoffs on the horizon. He is a good bet to find the end zone again.

  • The Pick: Amari Cooper to score any touchdown (+105)
