  • The Dallas Cowboys have lost three in a row and seven of their last 10
  • The Los Angeles Rams have now won two straight and five of seven
  • The Rams are 4-2 on the road this season with the two losses coming by a combined six points

After losing in Chicago on Thursday night, the Dallas Cowboys have now dropped three in a row and seven of 10. They’ll now return home to face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 15, who have been reinvigorated of late. The Cowboys have opened as a three-point favorite but which way will the line move by kickoff?

Cowboys Stumble Against Bears

It feels like weeks that experts were saying that the Cowboys were going to get back on track but the further we progress through the season, the more the Cowboys embarrass themselves. One week after losing at home on Thanksgiving to the Buffalo Bills, the Cowboys made Mitchell Trubisky look like Patrick Mahomes.

On Thursday, Trubisky threw three touchdowns and completed 74.2% of his passes en route to an easy 31-24 win over Dallas. The final score was not indicative of the game as the Cowboys were trailing by double-digits up until garbage time.

What was most bizarre is that the Cowboys actually won the turnover battle 2-0 and didn’t hurt themselves too badly with penalties (just 22 more yards than the Bears), and they still were blown out. The issue mostly appears to be with effort as they were sloppy tackling and awful on third downs (on defense).

The Cowboys look like a team that’s quit on head coach Jason Garrett and bettors are going to be very cautious betting them going forward. That could have a big impact on the line this week.

Rams Starting to Click?

Don’t look now but the Rams have won three in a row and five of their last seven. While it hasn’t been pretty in a number of those games, they’ve looked great in the last two weeks, blowing out both the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks.

Quarterback Jared Goff has again looked like a quality starter as he has 717 passing yards in his last two games while completing 73.0% of his passes. The offense has 62 points in that span; they had a total of 24 in their previous four contests.

They’ve been heavily criticized this season but when you take a look back, four of their five losses are to teams who are currently in playoff position and the fifth is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who apparently are a decent team when Jameis Winston can limit the turnovers. Maybe the Rams haven’t fallen off as much as was thought.

Which Way Will the Line Move?

The Cowboys are a three-point favorite but I have a tough time seeing this line holding. The Rams are playing good football right now and the Cowboys are virtually at the opposite end of the spectrum. Bettors also just saw both teams on national television and the Cowboys stunk while the Rams shined.

The Cowboys are laying three right now but that will come down. If you like the Rams, hop on the line now as you’re not likely to be getting a field goal by the time this game kicks off.
