  •  The Denver Broncos vs Los Angeles Chargers inactives and injury reports for the Week 6 MNF game is showing key offensive personnel as uncertain for both teams
  • Denver RB Melvin Gordon is questionable, dealing with neck and ribs issues
  • Los Angeles WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) is doubtful; see the full Broncos vs Chargers injury report below

As they face the Los Angeles Chargers (3-2, 4-1 ATS), it’s another prime-time appearance for the Denver Broncos (2-3, 1-4 ATS), their fourth of the NFL season. But it’s both teams that could be lining up for the Week 6 MNF game minus key players at the skill positions.

The Chargers, the chalk in the NFL odds, look as though they’ll be missing WR Keenan Allen for the fifth straight game due to a hamstring ailment.

Denver’s injury list is featuring four offensive starters with some sort of injury designation. This includes RB Melvin Gordon. He’s listed as questionable with neck and ribs issues.

The Chargers are 4-point home favorites for this game.

Denver Broncos Injury Report

Fumbling issues put Gordon behind Javonte Williams on Denver’s RB depth chart. However, the loss of Williams to a season-ending knee injury is opening the door of opportunity for Gordon. He was playing a season-high 56% of snap counts in last Thursday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Gordon is among four Denver offensive starters who are listing as questionable. Tight end Eric Saubert (thigh), LG Dalton Risner (back) and RG Quinn Meinerz (hamstring) are the others.

On defense, there aren’t as many injuries for the Broncos, but they are of a more serious nature. Both RILD Josey Jewell (knee) and FS Caden Sterns (hip) are out.

There are issues with the Denver special teams as well and it could be an overlooked factor in the Broncos vs Chargers betting line. Jacob Bobenmoyer, the Broncos’ long snapper, suffered a fractured thumb in the 12-9 loss to the Colts. He was placed on IR.

Broncos left tackle Garett Bolles underwent surgery Wednesday to repair his broken right fibula. He suffered the injury in the loss to Indianapolis. Bolles won’t be able to put weight on the injured leg for at least six weeks. He’d started all five games this season.

Los Angeles Chargers Injury Report

In the Broncos vs Chargers public betting splits, it’s Los Angeles that is drawing 67% of handle and 77% of bets on the spread. That’s a lot of faith to show in an offense that looks to be missing their #1 wideout again this week.

Allen was hurt in the season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders and hasn’t played since. He’s caught at least 100 passes in each of the past three seasons and four out of the last five.

Two offensive line starters are listing as questionable for the Chargers. Center Corey Linsley (illness) missed practice time this week. RT Trey Pipkins II (knee) was limited in practice this week. However, Los Angeles coach Brandon Staley is insisting that both will be playing in the MNF game against Denver.

A key absence on defense is All-Pro DE Joey Bosa (groin). He’s on IR and anticipation is he’ll be sidelined 8-10 weeks.

Placekicker Dustin Hopkins is returning after missing Week 5 due to a quad injury. Taylor Bertolet handled the field goal and PAT chores in last week’s 30-28 win over the Cleveland Browns.

How Could Injuries Affect Broncos vs Chargers Betting Lines?

Will Gordon be able to answer the bell against his former team? That’s vital, because last week, he was enjoying season highs in touches (18) and receiving yards (49). Minus Gordon, you’d want to be looking at his backup Mike Boone in the Broncos vs Chargers player props.

The Broncos held a tryout battle between Mitchell Fraboni and Joe Fortunato to see who would fill the key long snapper role on special teams. Ultimately, it was Fraboni, who handled long snapping duties this spring with the Pittsburgh Maulers of the USFL, who won the showdown.

Allen is getting closer to playing again, but he’s not there yet. He’s able to run full speed and was a limited practice participant this week. However, he still isn’t taking part in any 11-on-11 drills.
