Who says Christmas is just for kids? A tripleheader of NFL action on Christmas Day kicks off with the Green Bay Packers (6-8, 6-8 ATS) visiting the Miami Dolphins (8-6, 7-7 ATS) at 1 pm ET in a game that can be seen on FOX.

Although they handled the wintry landscape in Buffalo fairly well last week, you can bet the Fish will be happy to be back playing at the Hard Rock Stadium. It won’t exactly be ideal conditions though, with the forecast calling for temperatures of 53 degrees fahrenheit and a 34% chance of rain.

Last week was the first time the Packers went under the betting line since the first week of November. They would’ve hit the over again, if not for the patchwork Rams offense they went up against that put up only 12 points.

At this point, the Packers basically need to win out to stay relevant in the NFC playoff odds, and keep their wild card hopes alive.

They’re off to a good start, with two consecutive wins over the Bears and Rams. Can they push that streak to three against a much tougher opponent Sunday in the Dolphins?

Well, Green Bay has not fared well against teams with records better than .500 this year. They’re just 1-5 against teams in a playoff position, which doesn’t bode well when you consider the Miami team they’re facing.

On the injury front, it appears that left tackle David Bakhtiari is at least another week away from suiting up. Bakhtiari hasn’t played since his pre-bye emergency appendectomy.

It’ll be interesting to see if the offense continues its good mix of passing and running. In their last two victories, the Pack have totaled 313 yards on the ground and 411 through the air.

One of the more wild stats of the season thus far, is the fact that Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have a single 300-yard passing game yet! If you’re looking at NFL player props, Caesars Sportsbook has put the over/under for him at 250.5 passing yards this week.

Dolphins Look to Break 3-Game Losing Skid in NFL Odds

Miami will be elated to be back home after losing three in a row on the road. At Hard Rock Stadium, the Dolphins have a 5-1 record this season with the only loss coming over two months ago to the Vikings when Tua Tagovailoa was hurt.

It hasn’t been an easy stretch for the Miami pivot as he’s fallen off in the NFL MVP odds after emerging as one of the top contenders in November.

In the last three games combined, he’s completed less than 50% of his passes for an average of 225 yards per game to go along with five touchdowns and two picks. His numbers are still amongst the best in the league at the QB position and you can bet he’ll be motivated after getting snubbed for the Pro Bowl.

The offense did snap back to reality in rough conditions against the Bills last week, totaling over 400 yards of offense. Coming into Week 16, the Fish are averaging 385.3 yards per game on offense, good for fourth overall in the league.

Raheem Mostert was a monster in the run game last week, carrying the ball 17 times for 136 yards. Head coach Mike McDaniel and the running back share a strong bond from their days with the 49ers and with Mostert fully back from a serious knee injury suffered in the 2021 opener, expect him to get a lot of touches in this one.

Both teams are desperate for a win in this game, although a loss for Green Bay will definitely deal a more serious blow to their playoff hopes. Some sportsbooks had Miami as 4.5-point favorites to begin the week, but that spread has continued to get smaller.

In the NFL public betting trends, 45% of the handle is on Green Bay to cover a spread as 3.5-point underdogs.
