Colts vs Raiders Odds, Lines, and Spread
- The 7-5 Las Vegas Raiders clash with the 8-4 Indianapolis Colts in a game with huge AFC playoff implications
- Sunday betting record: 8-2; 5.47 units won
- The Colts are 3-point road favorites
Much more than a mere win is on the line as the Las Vegas Raiders play host to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
The 8-4 Colts are the seventh seed in the AFC, clinging to the final Wild Card playoff position. Las Vegas is 7-5 and the eighth seed. A win here for the Raiders and they claim the final postseason placing.
Losing could prove doubly devastating to the Colts. They’ve already lost to the Baltimore Ravens, who also enter Week 14 at 7-5. Should Indy lose and the Ravens beat the Cleveland Browns, thanks to the tiebreaker the Colts would slide all the way to ninth overall in the AFC.
Oddsmakers don’t see this happening, though. The Colts are listing as the 3-point road chalk. Indianapolis, 4-1 against the spread as an away favorite, opened as the 2.5-point choice in this betting line.

Knowing Your Enemy
The Raiders and Colts quarterback Philip Rivers faced each other 28 times during the latter’s days with the Chargers. Rivers shows an 18-10 career slate against the Raiders. He’s thrown more touchdown passes against the Raiders (47) than any NFL team. However, Rivers dropped both games to them last season.
Indianapolis is 10th in the NFL in scoring offense (27.3 points per game). Las Vegas is 11th overall (26.9 ppg).

On other side of the ball, the lines will play a significant role in the outcome. Oakland’s offensive line has allowed QB Derek Carr to be sacked 21 times. That’s 11th best in the league.
Indy has only sacked the QB 28 times. That’s 15th overall in the NFL. However, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (COVID) returned to action last week. He produced two sacks and three QB hits.
Walling Off Waller
Against the Jets, Darren Waller of the Raiders became the fourth tight end in NFL history to accumulate 200 receiving yards in a single game. He’s caught seven TD passes this year after grabbing five through his first four seasons.

The Colts must contain him and lucky for them, have just the player to do so. Linebacker Darius Leonard is a sideline-to-sideline tackling dynamo who will draw this assignment.
Indy has allowed only one TD by a tight end this season.
Injury Report
Running back Josh Jacobs (ankle), who leads the Raiders with 728 yards rushing, is listed as questionable. So are both of the team’s starting safeties – Johnathan Abram (knee) and Jeff Heath (concussion). However, the team remains hopeful that all will be able to play.

The Colts are listing starting left tackle Anthony Castonzo (knee) and strongside linebacker Bobby Okereke (ankle) as questionable. Both missed last week’s win over Houston.
Trend Spotting
The Colts are 5-2 straight up in their last seven against the Raiders. They’ve gone 3-1 SU in their last four road games against the Raiders. Granted, those were all played at Oakland.
Also, the last three Raiders-Colts games have all gone over 51.5 points. The Raiders are 2-3 SU at home this season.

Las Vegas is 1-2 in its last three games. The Raiders needed a miracle last-second TD against the winless Jets and facing a defensive call that got the Jets defensive coordinator fired in order not to be 0-3 over that span.
Pick: Indianapolis Colts (-159).
