  • On average, the 10-1 San Francisco 49ers are given the third-best odds to win Super Bowl 54
  • San Francisco shares the NFL’s best record (10-1) with the New England Patriots
  • The 49ers have the best odds of winning Super Bowl 54 of any NFC team at +500

The Niners just keep on winning but they don’t appear to be moving.

Sunday, two of the NFL’s best teams clashed when the NFC West-leading San Francisco 49ers faced the NFC North-leading Green Bay Packers. The end result wasn’t even close.

San Fran rolled to a 37-8 victory over the Packers to improve to 10-1 on the season and keep pace with the two-time defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots atop the NFL.

But when it came to the sportsbooks, they looked at San Francisco’s performance from a Shania Twain point of view.

It didn’t impress them much.

On average across the leading online sportsbooks, the Niners remain the third betting choice in the Super Bowl odds at +633.

Sportsbooks have also pegged the 49ers as the third betting choice in their Super Bowl 54 future book at +500.

Super Bowl 54 Odds

New England Patriots +275

San Francisco 49ers +500

Green Bay Packers +2000
Minnesota Vikings +2000
Houston Texans +3300

Odds taken Nov. 25.

The Niners are the top betting choice among NFC teams, however.

Niners Getting Finer?

The Niners can no longer be looked upon as a fluke. They are rightly established as the NFC’s best team.

San Fran rebounded from its only loss of the season to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9 via an overtime field goal to win two in a row. The 49ers absolutely schooled the 8-3 Packers on Sunday.

They’ve also kept rolling through some key injuries. Tight end George Kittle, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and running back Matt Breida have all been lost for spells this season. The Niners played a portion of the season without both of their starting tackles.

And they just keep winning. That’s the sign of a good team.

Garoppolo Silencing Critics?

Labeled by his detractors as nothing more than a game manager, Niners quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is also a winner. He’s 18-3 as an NFL starter.

Sunday, in a showdown against Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers, a Super Bowl winner and an NFL MVP, Garoppolo completed 14-of-20 for 253 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

For the season, Garoppolo has 20 TD passes against 10 interceptions, not exactly Pro Bowl numbers. But here’s a telling stat unearthed by Associated Press:

On the Niners’ 10 possessions immediately following a Garoppolo interception, the San Fran QB is 32-of-35 for 288 yards, two TDS and zero interceptions.

NFC Deeper, AFC Better?

Dig down the standings and you’ll have to agree that the NFC is richer in quality teams. Currently, Seattle (9-2) and the Minnesota Vikings (8-3) hold the two NFL Wild Card playoff spots. Five teams have won at least eight games.

In the AFC, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans and Oakland Raiders, all barely with their heads above water at 6-5, are grappling for the final Wild Card spot.

On the other hand, it’s difficult to debate that the Patriots and the 9-2 AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens aren’t the NFL’s top two teams. The Ravens are the only team to beat the Patriots. Baltimore went up to Seattle, the only team to beat the 49ers, and whipped the Seahawks 30-16.

Are the Niners legit? We’re about to find out. San Fran’s next two games are on the road at Baltimore and New Orleans (9-2).

Best to hold your bets until you see how they’ve fared after completing their current three-game gauntlet of elite teams.
