  • Sunday Betting Record: 0-0 ML; 4-10 ATS; 0-1 O/U; -5.52 units
  • Ravens coach John Harbaugh is suggesting that there’s a chance QB Lamar Jackson (ankle) could play

The theory is that the Baltimore Ravens go as quarterback Lamar Jackson goes. And since it appears that Jackson won’t be going on Sunday, the action is gravitating heavily toward the Green Bay Packers.

A high ankle spain is leaving Jackson’s status up in the air for Sunday’s home date against the Packers. This is a showdown between the NFL’s Northern lights. Green Bay (10-3) leads the NFC North, while Baltimore (8-5) resides atop the AFC North.

The uncertainy surrounding the versatile Jackson has oddsmakers setting the Packers as sizeable 7-point road favorites over the Ravens. Baltimore is 3-0 both straight up and against the spread in its last three games as a home underdog.

Packers vs Ravens Line Movement

The news of Jackson’s likely inaction has the public all over the Packers in this week’s NFL betting trends. Green Bay is drawing the largest percentage of wagering of any NFL team during Week 15.

A whopping 84% of handle and 90% of spread bets are backing the Pack. The line was Green Bay -5 at one point, so it’s grown by two full points.

Moneyline greenbacks are also supporting Green Bay. The Packers are drawing 87% of handle and 92% of bets.

In terms of the total, bettors are supporting the over quite significantly. It’s drawing 87% of handle and 95% of bets. That’s caused the total to increase from 42.5 to 43.5.

Who’s At QB? We’ll See

On paper, this was looking like a beauty of a matchup. It was going to pit Jackson against Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers in a battle of the NFL’s last two MVPS.

There’s still a chance that neither of them will be playing on Sunday. Jackson (ankle) hasn’t practised all week. Rodgers (toe) hasn’t practiced all week.

In the case of Rodgers, all indications are that it’s merely been precautionary measures and he’ll be under center on Sunday. As far as Jackson is concerned, expectations are that he’ll be out. However, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is leaving the door open a crack. He’s saying there’s still a sliver of a chance that Jackson will play.

Baltimore is actually 2-1 straight up the past three seasons when a QB other than Jackson is the Ravens starter.

Packers vs Ravens Injury Report

Green Bay is facing its own raft of injury issues. Both starting tackles – LT David Bakhtiari (knee) and RT Billy Turner (knee) – are out. Nose tackle Kenny Clark (illness) is also out.

At wide receiver, starter Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) is questionable. Backup Equanimeous St. Brown (concussion) is doubtful and Malik Taylor (abdominal) is questionable. Taylor is also the Packers’ top kick returner.

For the Ravens, Jackson is officially listed as questionable. Also questionable are wide receiver Marquise Brown (illness), fullback Patrick Ricard (back/knee), left tackle Alejandro Villanueva (knee), right tackle Patrick Mekari (hand) and backup tackle Tye Phillips (illness). In fact, seven Baltimore offensive lineman are either questionable or out.

Right defensive end Calais Campbell (thigh) is doubtful. Strong safety Chuck Clark (illness) and left guard Ben Powers (foot) are out.

Packers vs Ravens Betting Trends

Baltimore has won four of six previous meetings with Green Bay. The Packers are 1-1 straight up at Baltimore.

The Packers are 10-2 straight up and 11-1 against the spread in their past 12 games. The Ravens are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 December games.

Packers vs Ravens Prediction

Baltimore hasn’t lost outright as a home underdog since October 1, 2017. The Ravens (+3.5) were beaten 26-9 by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Since then they are 3-0 SU and ATS as a home dog. Earlier this season, the Ravens (+3.5) beat the Kansas City Chiefs 36-35. In 2019, they stopped Pittsburgh (+1) 28-10 and toppled the New England Patriots (+3) 37-20.

Take Baltimore and the seven points.

Pick: Baltimore Ravens +7 (-114).
