Russell Wilson will return to the field on Sunday when the Seattle Seahawks (3-5) do battle with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers (7-2) in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Kick-off from Lambeau Field is scheduled for 4:25pm ET on FOX. Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 30s with a slight wind and a small chance of precipitation.

The Seahawks have to be thrilled about getting Russell Wilson back as the signal-caller has been out since October 7th due to a finger injury. The Seahawks were 2-2 when Wilson was hurt but now find themselves 3-5. Wilson isn’t the only quarterback returning to his team as Aaron Rodgers will be back for the Packers after a bout with Covid.

Seahawks vs Packers Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Seattle Seahawks +3 (-105) +150 O 49 (-110)
Green Bay Packers -3 (-115) -170 U 49 (-110)

Odds as of November 11th at DraftKings.

The current odds show the Packers as 3-point favorites in this game although that number is down from 3.5 earlier in the week. The total is resting at a sky-high 49 but with both quarterbacks coming back it makes sense. Both teams are entirely different when their star quarterbacks are healthy.

Seattle Seahawks Outlook

Before the Halloween 31-7 massacre of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Seahawks had not been above 20 points in Russell Wilson’s absence. To put that in perspective, they scored at least 20 points in three of the four games he completed this season. To state the obvious, Seattle missed Wilson.

Fans, players and coaches alike will be happy to know that on November 10th, Russell Wilson was back at practice.

Wilson is a generational talent that simply can’t be replaced. The Seahawks obviously want to run the ball this season as Wilson has only attempted 23 passes twice in four full games this season. Still, when they need to throw to get back into things, Wilson can flip the switch and let it fly as he’s also thrown for 298 yards or more twice this season. When Wilson is on the field, Seattle always has a chance.

Green Bay Packers Outlook

Aaron Rodgers may have jumped ahead in the MVP race after watching Jordan Love last weekend. The Packers looked dreadful on offense against one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Still, even though Rodgers wasn’t in uniform, he still managed to steal some attention after some quality time on the couch.

Because of his couch time, Rodgers has drawn a ton of attention and not the kind he likes. Still, Rodgers is a pro’s pro and if anything, the negative backlash could help him on the field. He’s always been a guy that seems to play better with a chip on his shoulder. Let’s hope for the Packers’ sake that the chip is there Sunday.

Seahawks vs Packers Best Bet

This game should be one of the better ones Sunday if not the best one on the slate. As good as the two quarterbacks are, this one could come down to who can stop the run. Green Bay has not been great in that area all season giving up 4.6 yards per attempt which is 26th in the NFL.

If the Seahawks can control the game with the run which is likely, they should be in a place to win it in the fourth quarter. This is a tough spot to take a side, and when that happens I like to take an underdog if I think they can control the line of scrimmage. Seattle has all the talent in the world to do that and because of it, I think they can win this game outright. Tell the books to keep the points.
