Two weeks into the NFL season, and apart from the Bills and Chiefs, we don’t really know if other teams’ 2023 Super Bowl odds are legit or shaky.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 2-0, but haven’t really taken off offensively. The Rams look like they rediscovered their titlist selves, but it’s wait and see, as their success did come against the lowly Falcons.

After those two teams, it’s a toss up. Ahead of tonight’s Sunday Nighter — where another supposed contender is trying to settle worries — let’s have a look at the latest Super Bowl odds.

Bengals’ Official Hangover

Is it time to panic in Cincy? The Bengals are 0-2 following a 20-17 loss to the Cowboys, a game they entered as 7-point favorites in large part due to the fact Dallas was without Dak Prescott.

Cooper Rush led back-to-back 75-yard TD drives, and for the second-straight week, Cincinnati fell behind 17-3, and needed a furious comeback just to get back into the game.

A revamped offensive line was supposed to keep Joe Burrow upright, but he was sacked six times Sunday. Burrow’s now been sacked 13 times this season.

Unlike last week, where he threw for over 300 yards, Burrow was limited to just 199 yards passing and a lowly 5.5 yards per attempt.

As a result, the Bengals’ title odds have plummeted, from +2500 a week ago to their current mark of +3500.

Still, only the 1970 Cowboys and 2017 Patriots are the only teams to lose a Super Bowl and win the title the next season. Five other teams have made it back to the title game in consecutive seasons but lost both times.

It’s still early, but we’re waving the red flag before you decide there’s value for this wager.

Colts Blanked By Jags

Is anyone feeling more pressure than Matt Ryan? The veteran pivot in his first year with the Colts has opened with a tie with the lowly Texans, before getting blown out and shut out by the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-0.

Perhaps it’s a Jags jinx, as this Jacksonville team ended Indy’s playoff hopes last year with a win in the final game of the regular season.

Ryan didn’t look good at all, going 16-for-30 for 195 yards and three interceptions. He was sacked five times. Ryan has just one TD pass against four interceptions on the season.

The Colts had already fallen to +3000 odds after Week 1, and they’re on the fringes of longshot status, as they now sit at +4000.

Frank Reich does have a strong and consistent program, they still have one of the premier backs in the game in Jonathan Taylor, and a history of turning slow starts around.

I’d caution laying a wager on the Colts right now, and waiting to see how the next few weeks turn out. No worries, it’s not like they’re jumping into top-10 odds anytime soon.

Broncos Struggle vs Texans

The Russell Wilson era has been a rocky one in Denver. Even with a 16-9 win over the Houston Texans, there are some major questions surrounding this franchise’s title hopes.

Offensively, Denver has yet to get on the same page. After they went 0-for-4 on red zone trips in an opening-game loss to the Seahawks, they twice got inside the five-yard line in the first half against the Texans, and came away with only field goals.

Wilson started out just 6-for-19 passing in the first half, and the Broncos could only muster three points. You could hear the boos as he tossed an interception on their first drive of the second half.

He did enough to get the win, finishing 14-for-31 for 219 yards, with one touchdown pass and one interception.

How uninspiring was this victory? Denver was a 10-point favorite in this one and even with the win, their title hopes fade from +1800 to +2200.

Unlike the Bengals, there are no Super Bowl clouds hanging over the Broncos. It’s reminiscent to the uneven start to the Peyton Manning era in Denver, and that turned out just fine. In this case, these extended odds seem like the sweet spot to jump on a wager.

Dolphins Stage Massive Comeback

Hands up if you veered off the Dolphins-Ravens game when Baltimore had extended to a 35-14 lead with 26 ticks left in the third quarter. Same.

Miami moved to 2-0 with an improbable 42-38 comeback win, in easily the best game in Tua Tagovailoa’s young career.

He went 36-50 for 469 yards and six touchdowns, tying a franchise mark by Bob Griese and Dan Marino.

It was a priority this offseason to surround Tua with home run hitters and skilled pass catchers, and Tagovailoa used the the speedy offensive weaponry to the max.

Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle were unstoppable, combining for 22 catches for 361 yards and four touchdowns, while Mike Geisecki added another TD grab.

After starting the afternoon at +3000 odds, the Dolphins now move to +2500.

Again, it’s just one game so tread cautiously. They’ll face a tough litmus test with a date against the Bills next week.

That should give a better idea where the Fins should stand in the title hierarchy.
