The tundra might indeed be frozen when the Green Bay Packers host the Minnesota Vikings at 8:20 p.m. ET Sunday night in an NFC North matchup at Lambeau Field.

The temperature is expected to dip to minus-1 degrees with the wind chill approaching minus-15.

The Packers (12-3) have used a four-game winning streak to clinch the NFC division title. The Vikings (7-8) still have playoff hopes but will be without quarterback Kirk Cousins, who was placed on the COVID-19/reserve list Friday.

The Packers are favored by 13 points and the over/under is 41.5.

Cold Won’t Slow Adams

Normally, on a frigid night, running the ball is the way to go. However, with no precipitation expected, look for the Packers to go with the passing game as much as they would under normal conditions.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has played 17 seasons with the Packers and is used to playing in cold weather. Thus, there should be plenty of opportunities for wide receiver Davante Adams, who has developed an almost telepathic connection with Rodgers.

Adams has 106 receptions for 1,362 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.

Adams has also been consistently good during the homestretch. He has exceeded 100 yards receiving in four of the last five games after finishing in double digits in five of the previous six games.

Not coincidentally, the Packers are 4-1 in that five-game span.

When the Packers lost to the Vikings 34-31 in Minnesota on Nov. 21, Adams had seven catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Look for more of the same against a pass defense that is 27th in the NFL.

  • The Play: Davante Adams over 91.5 receiving yards (-113)

Jefferson Takes Over as WR1

The Vikings will turn to Sean Mannion at quarterback with Cousins sidelined. Mannion will be making just the third start of his seven-year career.

While the Vikings might rely more on the running of Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson will surely be Mannion’s go-to guy in the passing game, especially in the red zone. Jefferson has shined as Minnesota’s primary receiver since Adam Thielen sustained an ankle injury in Week 13.

Until being held out of the end zone last week in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams, Jefferson had touchdown receptions in three consecutive games. He has a total of nine scores this season to go with 97 catches for 1,451 yards.

Furthermore, Jefferson’s lone two-TD game of 2021 came in the win over the Packers. He finished that game with 10 receptions for 169 yards.

Jefferson’s scoring odds in this game are too good to pass up.

  • The Pick: Justin Jefferson to score any TD (+210)
